***Big 10 Thread***

Here's a sign that you shouldn't be offended by this:

Everything I have seen from the non-biased, national sports media has been about how cool this was. So if you have a problem with this, it's likely comes from your anti-Iowa bias, which is fine, but at least own it.

I also find a slight difference in the fact he died in the middle of the streak. He never got his chance to extend it. For some reason that makes this gesture more meaningful in my eyes.

Sure records are made to be broken, Chris likely would have told him to make it, etc. But I still think it's neat the kid was willing to do something relatively ballsy (imagine if they lost the lead) to honor his legacy.

So good on you, JBo. While I may have been guilty of poking fun at your game, but you seem like a genuinely good kid.

Did not know that.

Bumps the move up a few notches in my book.

Illinois, Wednesday. I think it's actually considered a play-in game to get into the real B1G tourney which starts Thursday.

I really haven't rooted hard against Iowa in basketball for a while now because you guys are so bad but I am definitely going to root for Underwood Wednesday because it'd be really funny if you didn't even play a game in March

I get it, it's been a rough season for you and seeing this situation get so much love nationally is like salt in the wound. They'll both be over before long.

Really gross sentimentality will always carry the day in Hokland, that's for sure.

The fact that the only people in the entire country who feel compelled to crap all over this are ISU fans pretty much says it all.

Come on now. You damn well know if you switch it up and an ISU player had done the same thing you would have Iowa fans crapping all over it just like you would have some supporting it.

Given the fact Street’s streak never ended with a miss I thought it was a nice gesture to preserve it.

I'm not crapping on it, I think it was a nice gesture, but felt having the ultimates done for you would be a bigger thing. Hall of fame, retire number and such.

Should Iowa retire the record maybe?

Agree, and they'd be just as full of ****.

Yeah, because Iowa fans are ********. We don’t have to be the same way.

Jesus ******* Christ guys, you don’t need to **** on everything Iowa does

He's kind of a douche on Twitter

How so? He's had a couple interactions with fans but I don't think it's anything too reflective of his character. If the worst thing a kid does is fire back a tweet or two in frustration I think I'd take that.

You guys are giving JoBo too much credit...... He obviously missed the free throw because Street's parents were there and when the very unfortunate accident that took a great basketball player way too soon happened, they looked to sue everyone within a 3 mile radius of the accident to make them rich while mourning the loss. Jorbo parents obviously told him to miss it to spare them any legal matters.... Been there done that.

Carry on
