Holy Cow, 2 of the 3 websites I found only have 3 Big 12 teams in their NCAA brackets! And only Texas and Baylor are universally picked. Absolutely no scenarios the WNIT can fall to us, except maybe to make the conference tourney final.

Yeah.....this would have been a good year to have that dual NIT home date.....I think we did that in 2003. That was fun.

We are bad this year. To be honest I'll be kind of glad when this season is over. It is nice we won back to back games though here at the end. I have no complaints of the effort the ladies put into it, but if we continue to bring up the bottom part of the conference next yr a regime change wouldn't bother me.

Sounds like he's got some talent coming in. My niece plays on the same team as Joens and she's quite a stud. Excited to see what she, Madison Wise, and Carlton back for a senior year can do.

Overall, I would say this is a down year for the Big 12. OU played a tough non-conference schedule and struggled. They may have an outside chance to sneak in. WVU started out like crazy in the non-conference, then has struggled in conference play with the teams above them. TCU played a very weak non-conference schedule it's hurting them in the NCAA conversation.

@geewago Congrats on clinching down at UT the other night. Did you make the trip down? Have fun following your lady Bears in the NCAA's

Plus add in Alexa Middelton coming off her red shirt season. Looking forward to seeing her along side Bridget next season.

Maybe never? It's a weak slate for a P5 conference in the league this year.

I would agree with that. Big 12 WBB isn't what it used to be, but even over the last few years it's been the norm to have 5 or 6 teams make the NCAAs. I think at least 4 will get in this year when it's all said and done.

In 2002, the Big 12 got 7 teams in and ALL were received at least a 4 seed or better. Oklahoma was a 1 (and went on to the National Championship game); Baylor was a 2; Iowa State, Kansas State, and Colorado were a 3; Texas and Texas Tech were given a 4. Tech was a 4 seed with an 8-8 Big 12 records. That's how strong the league used to be.

2002 was also the year that Iowa State hosted sub-regionals AND regional games in Hilton, but lost to BYU (and 11 seed) in the 2nd round. The Cyclones literally had 4 home games for their opportunity to make their first Final Four, but couldn't get past the 2nd game.

Ugh, that was a sour occurrence. Wasn't Iowa State close to having that game in the bag, too, with under 5 minutes ... then somehow unraveled down the stretch? (I call this a "vaguely specific" memory).

Not so sure that isn't optimistic. We have only three teams with RPI in the Top 50 and one is the Sooners. The Sooners are out because they won't have enough wins to go with their RPI of 24. Think it's a pick em for the third spot between OSU and WVU, both who are north of 60 in RPI.

Big 10 might get seven or eight. Got seven in top 50 RPI and probably have seven 20 win teams.

I just went and found the recap from the game. ISU had a 67-66 lead with under two minutes to play (after blowing a 13 point lead). BYU finished out the game on a 9-2 run. They had never even won an NCAA game before that year's 1st round.

I am sure OU gets in simply because they're OU. They are 10-6 in league play, and have been playing better of late. Either OSU, TCU, or WVU should get in, depending on if any one of them makes a run in OKC, which is possible. Big 12 is the #3 league for SOS. Honestly, I think that's enough to get a 4th team in, regardless of who it is. Just a couple more weeks until we find out for sure.
