Am I missing any? Underclassman had a large impact in the game and it makes for an interesting/exciting next couples years.

Actually, I was thinking just how amazing it was that both Johnson and Darks, true freshmen, managed to catch a touchdown in their very first college game. How much of a portent for the future is that?

More then the WR i was more impressed to hear Johnson and Benton over the loudspeakers. there was a time when i heard both called at least 3 times in a row. and they can both lay the lumber. on another note i was PISSED to see Banks go down in the 2nd quarter, he was looking like a very good player and really could hit. I cant remember how many times i laughed just from seeing this team hit their guys.

Think how Kennard must feel! Wonder if it'll take him a few days to get over feeling low. After that, hope he bounces back big-time.

Maybe we won't be a real good team this year -- some obvious problems that might take some time to overcome -- but before the season began, I told myself I'd be happy with this year if we proved to be a nasty opponent and a difficult out.

Here's to hoping we prove to be nasty and the rest of the league will be forced to look at us with respect because of our play.

well considering he slapped the ground with the other hand and obviously looked down when getting carted off, i kinda knew he was a little angry. So before you get all cranky take your bad attitude somewhere else. I know what it feels like to be taken out of a big game i was just giving my thoughts since that is what the thread was about. My bad.

Man, talk about misinterpretation. I was agreeing with you, I wasn't being critical of what you said. I was teasing, kidding around; guess I shouldn't do that on an online forum where context is missing so often.

I'm sorry that I wasn't clear enough that you could properly understand my intent.

I'm curious as to what you feel the "obvious problems" are, mainly because I'd like to hear your perspective, and watch to see how long before those issues are indeed resolved.

To me, right now, the biggest issues are inexperience and depth at certain positions. But that's hardly all of the problems.

I think tackling, interior defense, and developing a consistent rushing attack were obvious problems. However I feel good about next season to maybe win 8+.

I have seen alot of people post about our poor tackling. I think that maybe the way that our defensive system is setup might contribute to this.....I can't say I know the innerworkings of our defense, but I know that coach spent alot of time developing his craft as a bystander in defensive meetings with the Buc's when Tony Dungy was there. Tony's defense is all about speed to the ball...and the job of the first guy to get to the ball isn't to necessarily tackle the guy, but to a) get there as fast as possible, and then b) slowdown, and impede the progress of the runner so that the rest of the defense can swarm in and make the tackle. And its also important that if the first guy misses the tackle that he at least force the runner in the direction of where his help will come from as well.

So thats food for thought....I haven't broken down tape like some of you either though, but something to keep an eye on.

Also take into consideration this was a blowout game so some of the younger guys got more playing time than they will probably get later this season. I do think several of those guys will be key contributers this season. Obviously Arnaud, A-Rob, and Mahoney are in big roles and several others are starters or key reserves.

Rumpelhammer - played alot,
Haughton - played quite a bit,
Hayworth Hicks - played quite a bit (not underclassmen but first year,)
Kennard Banks - stud (not underclassmen but first year,)
Jason Carlson - hardly played at all,
Cameron Bell - played quite a bit,
Taylor Mansfield - played alot,
Osemele - played a bit,
did Baysinger get in?,
Alvarez - played a bit,
Jake Williams - hardly played but was in there,
Bailey Johnson

Indeed, the future is bright.

The thing that impresses me the most is the amount of depth that seems to be developing on our team. In years past when we did blow someone out, there was a distinct difference between the guys we started and guys we brought in. Now, it looks like we have a lot of guys that will be able to contribute, and honestly there were times when the back-ups were in that you couldn't tell the difference between them and the starters.
