Graham Couch: Iowa Basketball is a mid-major roster

He might or he might not. How's that for a deep thought? Let's get him on campus and see what we have first before redshirting a kid. By the beginning of next season he may be physically ready.

Totally agree with this. Wait and see how ready he is in the fall. He still has spring and summer to get stronger and with Lard, young, Jacobson they don't need him to be a banger inside. Plenty of guys play on the slender side and do fine with it. He has a very particular set of skills.

Who fills minutes at the 4 and 5 then? You would have Young, Lard, Jacobson and who else?

Does Talley play much 4?
The three you listed is one more than this season. Talley can play some 4.
That said, don't be surprised if he doesn't redshirt.

Worrying about who will be the 5th or 6th post? It’s obvious your favorite team is Iowa.

We’ll be just fine with those three and Talley as needed if Conditt or Griffin need some time to adjust.

Lol Iowa fan

Actually was asking who the 4th PF/C would be, not 5th or 6th.

You guys think Lard, Young and Jacobson will play a combined 80 MPG next season?

Lard and Young combine for about 52 MPG right now.

I don't think it's unrealistic that Lard averages 27-30, Young about 25-27 and Jacobson 18-22.

As mentioned before, if ISU wants to go small they could put Talley or ZG at the 4.

Again, it’s clear you’ve been brainwashed by Fran.

Lard, Young, and Jacobson will be the deepest forward rotation that we’ve had in many years, so yes they can play 80 minutes. In the event of foul trouble, we can always do what we’ve done for the previous 6 years and go small with Talley at the four. We may do that anyways given the success it can have.

Thanks for answering the question.

Talley is pretty bad so for ISU's sake it would probably be best if he were passed in the rotation next season.

Could even do a 4 guard lineup with Wigg, Shayok, Babb, THT, and Lard. Will be able to play multiple ways depending on the best match ups on a given night. Something we don't have the option to do this year.

Talley isn’t bad, unless we continue to use him as a shooting guard. Even then he’s a great bench guy that can handle the ball and defend four positions. I realize defense and ball handling aren’t prioritized by Fran, but those things are valuable.
