Graham Couch: Iowa Basketball is a mid-major roster

Nebraska is going to lose to Maryland and Penn State anyway, so jeresib's argument that they will be in won't matter.

I'm sure they are going to lose both games against Penn St and Maryland. They are only 14-1 in Lincoln but 2 scrub Big Ten teams will easily roll in there and beat them. Lol!!!

Nebraska is 19-8 overall (10-4), Penn State is 18-9 (8-6), and Maryland is 17-10 (6-8). By saying these two are scrubs, you are admitting that Nebraska is pretty much a scrub as well. Similar records and all...

Maryland is 4 games behind them in conference, so yeah, that qualifies them as a scrub team.

For the record, I think the two squads are pretty close this year.

They are pretty similar on KenPom and in per possession net rating when you adjust for strength of schedule. ISU just plays a better schedule.

Iowa is more consistent because of their lack of a home court. Not trying to pick on Carver Hawkeye; just what the numbers say. Hilton can be a fortress for us, as those four big wins tell us, but at the same time, we kind of stink on the road.

I admit I do not know Iowa's roster quite as well as ours, which I know like the back of my hand, but I do not know how having Wigginton and Lard coming back, maybe the two best freshmen in the Big 12 outside of Trae Young (and maybe better in some ways because they are not both obnoxious ball hogs), keeping Babb/Young/Talley, bringing Shayok online, nice bench depth in Jacobson, and then a recruiting class of two high 4* guys...

Yeah, our future is bright. That is going to be tough to beat for any non-Blue Blood program.

Can any Iowa people match that, blow-by-blow?

I get what KenPom can do, if utilized correctly, but in this instance, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Iowa and ISU are very similar, yet we have a better record against a harder schedule. We suck on the road, and are pretty good at home, while Iowa is just not good everywhere they go, but we are only 6 spots ahead of them?

And, we have three top 25 wins to their 0.

You do not understand how unbalanced conferences work.

But...Nebby will win the rest of their regular season games (I think).

Lmao, yeah I do, it means without looking Maryland coudk be alot worse than 4 games behind Nebraksa if they played equal schedules. Maryland is a joke.
