***Big 10 Thread***

You know, the hawks are so hopeless, I have found it more entertaining watching that elephant with his green yoga ball than making fun of how bad they are. sigh.

How can you say Barta is a good AD when Fran is going to get the highest buyout I've ever heard of for a basketball coach next year?

Ask me that again in about 13 months if he actually gets fired. You really love discussing hypotheticals.

I've yet to find evidence that Barta is a good AD. Seems that for a long time, Iowa was able to get by on their branding, but when marketing/social media has really increased the last few years they are extremely behind. Not sure how he is at fundraising but my guess is he's fine. Again, Iowa's established enough there have been high donors from even before his time. What we do know is that he's cost the university millions for simply not doing his job well and having terrible communication issues.

ISU fans should want him and Fran to stick around.

He is known for his ability to raise money. I do question if an inanimate carbon rod could also raise good money over there. Say what you want about tavern hok fans, but they do have an impressive sized fan base class that actually ponies up for their athletics.

He is? I've never heard that. I know the BTN helped out their Athletic Department a ton

I guess you glossed over the "inanimate carbon rod" part of the post.

Fran's buyout is exhibit #1 of and AD agreeing to a bad contract. There is no reason it should be that high. I know that college football buyouts are getting out of hand too but there is literally no reason for Barta to agree to that. It also makes him look extremely bad in light of the allegations against him treating women and men coaches differently. Furthermore, Branstad's handpicked U of I President is a f'ing joke as well.

The fruitcake on HN is saying Michigan State should have to forfeit for their "criminal actions".

LOL

Known as taking it anyway you can get it.

There is a potential magic there though. When the teams are so bad, they get bored and feel like they are at practice in carver with all the book readers there. I think that is why visitors turn it into a dunkfest, so they can stay interested in the game and not get caught off guard.
