No way Gard survives this season is there? I was mostly flipping between the KU/OU and Tech/OSU games so I only caught a few minutes but I did see Cook leave the game,looked like the game was in hand by that time so I doubt he came back but any word on his injury?

Tough call. As I mentioned earlier, I'd make a really hard run at Tony Bennett. He would be a grand slam hire there.

Gard makes me thing of Bruce Weber at Illinois when Self when to Kansas. Great roster but you knew he was in above his head.

If the next the men’s basketball team wins all of the remaining 9 games that would likely put them on the bubble at 20-11. A few of those 9 wins would be over high rpi teams. One or two wins in the big 10 tournament would get them in for sure.

The next route would be to win the ncaa tournament. A strong finish to the regular season could help out as it could move Iowa to the 10th seed or better. That would reduce the tournament wins needed from 5 to 4. ‘

This team has a lot of talent, and they are capable of it if they continue to play well.

Contract situation for Tony Bennett:

He makes $2.1 million per season

He has a buyout of $3 million if he leaves before March 15, 2018 - that number is reduced to $1 million if he leaves after March 16, 2018.

He gets a "longevity" bonus of $1 million if he is still Virginia's coach on March 15, 2019​

Edit: I guess that's not too bad for Wisconsin to handle, as they currently pay Gard $1.75 million per season.

You should have been here when he was talking about how good the 2014 and 2015 recruiting classes were for Fran when we were all making fun of them. Dale Jones was a 6'10 lights out shooter that everyone wanted but he didn't let any of those schools offer him besides Iowa. Those were the days

He got banned here. He was arguing for months that Iowa made the tourney when they actually lost in the play in game and then I did a quit search and bumped a post of his saying that losing in the play in game doesn't count as a tourney appearance and he lost his mind

And he should have been banned for that. What sort of idiot would believe you made the NCAA Tourny when you lose the play-in game. Gasoline sniffers is all I can come up with.
