Why wouldn't it include him. He played every meaningfull snap in 2017. Yes, I do expect him to the starter next year.
If the LB's can be serviceable, the defense will be good.
I am a little worried about the OL with Daniels moving on but trust KF to figure that out.
Calling my shot that Recinos will be a Groza finalist and have a Kaeding like season.
Good coaching can mask deficiencys on the OL.
In my opinion, Iowa needs a talent upgrade at safety for them to have a great defense. Maybe there is a young guy in waiting that could do it.
Snyder and Hooker will be solid back there.
At least after Snyder serves his 1 game suspension.
Sophomore slump, ISU fans should know all about that after Mike Warren's sophomore year when you said he was better than Wadley.
Played one game this year after tearing his ACL in Spring ball. Played homecoming against Illinois and tore it again. Got an OWI a week or so before the bowl game so he will most likely be out the first game.
They are expecting him to be 100% for summer workouts.
Amani Hooker and a healthy Brandon Snyder is a pretty good duo at safety...not worried.
Gervaise (sp?) is serviceable so if Snyder can't go we're still ok. Main concern on D is linebacker. I think the D line will be good and has depth. Loss of Jackson at corner is a concern but honestly Jackson came out of nowhere this year....he was battling for a starters job going into the season. Hankins looks like the next great Iowa corner IMO.....
Anyway, LB is the key and the Iowa defense relies heavily on it's LB's so we'll see how it goes.
No but Geno Stone looked pretty good when he was on the field. Think he could be a good one.
Honestly all unproven...but that's what happens when you lose 3 multiple year starters....
Mends....people expected him to beat out Bower a couple years back but he's kind of fallen off the radar. He'll be in the mix.
Hockaday was the heir apparent to Jewell but has been battling injuries...
Everybody else is young and unproven.
Little Niemann has had some good buzz....Kristian Welch as well.
In short we'll have no idea honestly till fall camp probably.
