Kudos to David Pollack and Lee Corso for picking the underdog Cyclones.
Of course, all three big 10 homers went with Memphis. Way to close it out Herbie.
Surprised Rece Davis took the Tigers. He has been in our corner all year and hopefully he helps vote us back in the Top 25.

I like Dave Pollack. One of only ESPN staff that gave the Big 12 the credit it deserved throughout the year. Didn’t spew the agenda that this conference doesn’t play defense and sucks.

Agree, he was the only guy I heard predict the Iowa State defense would be able to control this game.

I assume SU means straight up right? So Chip would take the spread on Memphis, but Iowa State straight up? How does that make sense? Unless you are factoring in difference in payouts/payoff.
I’m thinking either it got entered wrong or he is an idiot.

Good observation, didn't notice that. .. jkclone is probably right, it was entered incorrectly (I'll give benefit-of-doubt about "idiot" assessment). But nobody at CBS caught the error.

ISU is just not a very sexy pick. Plays defense, doesn't score a lot, doesn't have a lot of flashy players. In the end, it was a darn close game, and ISU was lucky on a couple bad passes that could have been TOs.
Not a sexy pick? What does mean?

I don’t think we were lucky. In the end, Memphis turned out to be 2017 Texas Tech Lite and much closer to Baylor than they were OU/Ok St.

Many were thinking our style of defense was perfect for that offense. It was true, even with the loss of three starters and our poor offense and ST.

Our offense, woof. We consistently left a lot of plays and points on the field. Of course, that will happen when the OL rebuild isn’t finished and you’re playing a backup Qb

High scoring team that barely lost to the conference championship in the final play vs a 7-5 team that honestly struggled to finish games. Plus Memphis was at home.

The game was the game. ST and offense did play poorly, Kempt did throw two interceptions, and we're lucky the ruffing penalty and a bobbled catch saved them. Memphis did a great job of taking DM away, and making Kempt beat them. Good to get the win but it was far from pretty or dominant.
