I would take this bet. You and a few others around here get it but for everyone of you in Hoknation, there are 4 more that are already booking their B1G championship trip for next year.

Many of the predictions for the Hawks next year range from 7-5 to 9-3. I think I saw one prediction of 10-2. A bunch of concerns about the linebackers and offensive line. Everyone realizes that Wisconsin is the division favorite. I spend a bunch of time on Hawkeye message boards. Not one person has said anything about us being favored or even the possibility of going to the championship game. So I’m going to call you a flat out liar.

Thanks for stopping by with your opinion. I must have really struck a nerve to get you stick your head up after 7 years of lurking here. Glad you run in a circle where they are more realistic but the hoks that infest my world will have themselves worked into a complete frenzy by next September.

So they are basically fans then. Got it.

Most Iowa fans know they aren't a blue blood or a major player.

I come here before the Iowa Iowa State football game every year, then every once in a while through the year. I’ve never insulted the Cyclones or Cyclone fans. I just wanted to point out that you flat out made that up and it has no basis in reality. Perhaps you do have delusional Hawk fans that populate your universe, but realistic Hawk fans dominate those.

Based on thirty years of first hand evidence, Hawk fans would have a more legitimate claim for a return trip to the championship game than Cyclone fans would have for a continued presence in the world of football relevance.

Your OL, LB's and QB are pretty huge question marks going into next season

He was when he initially got the big pay raise and thus the next contract just basically extended that first contract. Also, you missed the part where I said our AD is lazy.

So he got a crazy high buyout because your AD is just lazy?

For clarification.....when you say "return" you are talking of conference championship and not THE championship....correct?

Most coaches have stupid high buyouts when they have a lot of time left on their contract. KF won't have much of a buyout once he is five more years into this deal, which is when he will probably retire if I had to guess.

College coaches have it made at this level. Have to have at least five years left on your deal to recruit effectively, if you do a crap job and get fired you get paid for those years left on the deal.
