Pontiac Silverdome was imploded today

Yeah that failed badly. Article I read said if they can't figure out the wiring issue quickly that they will just have to use exavators, etc to take it down. Wonder who will eat the added cost?

The Silverdome won't fall down but in Indy, they can't keep the turf "zipped"....they sure don't make em like they used to

You'd need the hydraulic excavators from hell to reach that high. Hopefully they aren't stuck trucking in dirt and making piles for an excavator to work from or that's going to hurt someone's budget (likely the insurance or bonding company).

That's why I hate doing demo work (not that I get blow things up). Lots of unknowns, lots of hidden things, and once you cut something you can't set it back down.

As far as remediation, probably hope gravity goes to work for them. After that, time to bring in the long reach excavators and see if hitting it a few times gives gravity the kick start you need.

As far as who's responsible? That's going to be the contractor & their insurance.

Except it's not Detroit, it's Pontiac (which is like 30 miles to the NW). That being said, Pontiac is swimming in even less money than Detroit is (which is actually doing better for itself in the last few years).

I know it's Pontiac, but is Auburn Hills across the street? It has to be close.

Not exactly sure what your point is - Auburn Hills isn't Detroit, either. Detroit ends at 8 Mile Road. The Silverdome is at about the equivalent of 21-22 Mile Road. I am basically 20 miles east of the Silverdome and I live between 21-22 Mile Roads..

Here Bob...put on this red shirt and go see if you can't figure out the problem.

Why do you need to wear the red shirt? No reason...no reason at all....
