Harvey and Spears are going to be so good next year
LBers should definitely be better without Lanning as a liability out there.

I'm confused? Lanning was second team all conference
Yeah, real questionable selection there. He wasn't very good and Iowa State will be much better off without him.
How was a second team all conference LB Not very good? That literally makes no sense
He made all-conference because of all the publicity he got due to playing a handful of snaps at QB, not based on his LB play. If Lanning was one of the six best LBs in the Big XII, the conference was even worse than I thought. He's a Bo Bower level player.

I trust the Big 12 coaches over someone biased like you
Spent more time with an OL laying on top of him than he did on his feet. He was really good at throwing himself onto piles and racking up those tackle stats, though.
Gonzo- any talk of moving Epenesa inside next year? Seems like he could handle it and be disruptive.Agreed.

That's fine. Watch the first half of the TCU game for an example. Spent more time with an OL laying on top of him than he did on his feet. He was really good at throwing himself onto piles and racking up those tackle stats, though.
aka I saw one play of the TCU game and am basing the entire season on that.
It's funny you point out a defensive shutout for the example of how our MLB is terrible.
Every time I think you're getting better at this, you fall back onto tired old habits.
Even if you throw away the fact that Allen was 2nd team all conference and Fran was third team and just look at what is out there on the field. Fant was more productive as a receiver this year but Allen was more productive as a blocker. The fact Allen has a higher ceiling and Fant lost a game for his team this year gives the nod to Allen

Makes sense, it just seems like Epenesa is the type of guy that could get to 285-290 pretty easily. I certainly didn't watch him a ton, but he looked like a guy that could push a double team and create problems in the backfield.I think Lanning was solid for a Big 12 LB.
Really don't see that happening. He's going to be a force on the edge. We have guys like Hesse, Lattimore, Brincks, Reiff, M. Nelson who are better suited for the interior. AJ's already shown big upside at DE. Could be wrong though.
Didn't Butler lose two games for ISU?
I see hok fans (except @YeahBuddy ) are still posting about football. Wonder why they gave up posting about basketball? Can't wait until the total meltdown next year of the hok football program while we are shooting for 10 wins. Hok trolls won't come near this place.Didn't Butler lose two games for ISU?

Either way that's a good cornerstone to build a defense around.
