I was very impressed with how she handled herself after the race. She basically said "I screwed up during the biggest race of my life." She could've tried to place the blame on someone else like "the Australian runner got a fantastic jump and that threw me off" or whatever, but she didn't. That last shot let you know how disappointed she was.
I think something like this is nearly impossible to compare to other sports. If you fumble on the goal line and lose the superbowl for your team, you get to come back and move toward getting redemption. In these types of sports, you have to wait 4 years before you can even have a chance at redemption and even then the chances are slim.
