I don't know about everyone else...but between the announcers and the 0 holding calls on the Tech ISU game...it was had to listen too. Might as well put it on subtitles..

I actually liked Kanell. Got to keep in mind he just made the transition back to the booth after being let go by ESPN. He was very Pro-ISU and his opinions seemed genuine rather than the typical bluster one gets used to from the booth when ISU pulls out the W. I wouldn’t mind listening to him call another football game. AJ Hawk was pretty forgettable in the booth.

They were horrible, but I had other games on as well, so didn't have to listen to them the whole time. What was with AJ Hawk's hair? He looked terrible.
Used to be a big AJ Hawk fan when he was a Packers LB... but at that time he had hair down to his shoulders. Ever since he cut it, Packers released him and he got stuck in Cincinnati... and there's no coming back from Cincinnati...

Was only to catch the last part of the game on TV. Second play I saw was the INT for a TD for ISU!!!

Not sure what the announcers were like for the entire game, but I did hear one of them say at the very end, "Iowa State will be ranked next week. Book it." or something like that.

That didn't sound so bad to me!

I like Kanell for the most part, but that was a really bad broadcast all around. That's what happens when you give former players jobs that they aren't cut out for. I agree with the poster that said how dead the broadcast was. I know the crowd was silent, and it was never really close, but it seemed like they were watching other games while keeping us updated occasionally on the Iowa State Texas Tech game.

Their quality may reflect what Fox thought of the matchup. I agree that Kanell was the best of the three. AJ Hawk needs work, but I don't think he has been in the booth that long

Hawk has a pretty big personality, but seemed a little nervous. He will be good eventually. I was mostly disappointed in the production. Going to replays when the ball is about to be snapped, camera not following the ball, etc. FS1 is supposed to be a notch above FSN.

Advantage to watching in a noisy bar. Couldn't really hear them much and when we could they seemed to not be talking about what they were showing.

With so many NCAAF broadcasts each week, there is a need for a lot of depth in both the camera crew and the announcers. And FOX doesn't have it yet. Hopefully they will get better each year, as crews become more experienced, and as weaker guys get culled. But it will take time.

But the me, being able to watch the Cyclones on TV with "meh" announcers is better than not being able to watch them at all. So, I am less inclined to complain too much.
