NWB won't.
Long more than likely will not.
Read what I quoted, I guess I should have added this..

I'm pretty sure Matt Thomas and Naz Long will transfer.
FFS, why do we keep speculating who could transfer? Can we just stop it already? We've got guys that chose to come to ISU and represent the university. I realize players transfer out all the time, but no good comes from singling out players.
Speculation about who will transfer (someone will) happens every year as well.
Recency bias for recruits (and AAU highlight drooling) is rampant among fans. That is, it seems like many would push J.Long out the door to get T.Harris but forget that J.Long had a higher 247 composite rating than T.Harris does.

I'm not saying J.Long is (or will be) better than T.Harris, just trying to articulate it is a dangerous (and likely misguided) view that these high school kids will definitely be better than our current players, especially early on.
Yeah I realized my self contradiction as soon as I posted that. Oh well.. if someone is going to transfer this spring one of those two would be my guess.
Agree 100%. I have no problem with assuming that someone will likely leave the program. But singling one specific player out when you really don't have any idea is kind of a crappy thing to do. His name is Jakolby Long, not Jakolby Long's Open Sholarship. Give the kid and every other guy on the roster a chance before you punch his ticket out of Ames.
Jakolb Long. Nick Weiller-Babb could grad transfer.
I don’t really want to speculate on who might but there’s been at least 2 players transfer every year since 2010-11 so odds are that someone will leave.
16-17: Kasongo, Carter.
15-16: Cooke, Ashton, Ernst
14-15: Custer, Jackson, Tsalmpouris
13-14: Dorsey-Walker
12-13: Okoro, Law
11-12: Railey, Sledge
10-11: McKnight, Godfrey
And to that point, players mind sets have also changed. If a player doesn't get a chance to make an impact, he writes off that school more quickly than before.Fans (and, to be fair, some programs) have become really impatient because of the exploding transfer market in college basketball . If a player doesn't make an immediate impact, he gets written off pretty quickly.
Although I get the point you are trying to make, Those people weren't necessarily wrong. Naz very much thought about transferring and he has said as much himself.FWIW, I remember a lot of people speculating that Naz Long would transfer after his uneventful Freshman season. Boy were those people wrong. Naz just worked his tail off and became a valuable member of our team and a Cyclone Favorite.
But he admitted himself that he almost did transfer. Every kid thinks about what it would be like somewhere else. Heck, most adults as well. Just let the process work.FWIW, I remember a lot of people speculating that Naz Long would transfer after his uneventful Freshman season. Boy were those people wrong. Yeah, I think they did - it was some kind of package dealI didn't think Dorsey AND Walker transferred the same year...

In my opinion we do not need to over sign players. If we have someone decide to move on after the season there is plenty of time to sign a grad transfer or pick up a top notch freshman next year.
I'd THT, Harris & Conditt all want to commit, you absolutely take all 3. You worry about the rest later.
