***OFFICIAL IOWA/ISU WEEK THREAD***

Yeah, Iowa's secondary is probably better than Iowa State's too. Other than that, pretty spot on though.

No not at all. Iowa's secondary isn't very good. I doubt WRs are going to be dropping wide open TDs all year.

Iowa got burned deep once against Wyoming, and it was their third CB. Like I said several weeks ago, Josh Jackson is a stud- better than anyone ISU has to offer- and he is Iowa's 2nd best corner. It's really not even close.

You're an idiot

Anyone who watched the Iowa-Wyoming game (like I am sure you did) would likely agree with me.

Yes use a one game sample size against a Mountain West team to say someone is better than two all conference DBs that ISU has, especially after they both had interceptions and one was returned to the house Saturday night. Derp.

That's the one I went back and forth on. I wanted to put Iowa d backfield ahead of ISU's but didn't want to be called a homer.

What are the reasons that people are legitimately rating the ISU coaching staff better than Iowa's? Or is it just trolling?

You guys are easy to please if all it takes is to not look like a hot mess in the opener against UNI.

I think CMC is going to be a big time coach after he leaves ISU and we clearly have the better OC. I know KF is more accomplished because he's so old.

ISU was a completely different team from early last year to late last year/now. Our weak spots are visibly getting better. Our strong points are still strong. Last year, we lost to a garbage UNI team. This year, we handily beat a better UNI team (or, at least I thought they were better. They underachieved pretty bad last year).

UI hasn't gotten noticeably better or achieved higher in... Well, years. There was the 12-0 season, and then a bunch of similar seasons that all blur together. Same story every year: average-to-good season, 7-9 wins, get f***ing a**blown in a bowl game, come back next year with basically the same team and same weaknesses as the year before.

One team's staff is showing noticeable improvement in the short term. The other staff maintains the status quo and doesn't change much, good or bad. Which one sounds better to you, the stale team or the improving team? Personally, I'll take improvement when I can get it.

Iowa gave up 174 yards on 40 pass attempts to a first Rd NFL draft pick QB on a team getting Top 25 votes. ISU gave up 259 yards and 3 TD passes on 38 attempts to a FCS QB and school.

Iowa didn't have their best corner either. Iowa secondary > ISU secondary.

Is this a @1976 alt?

ISU LB had a pick six, Iowa didn't. ISU LBs > Iowa's LBs

Not only that, UNI still ran up and down the field on the ISU defense, UNI just turned it over more.
