***OFFICIAL IOWA/ISU WEEK THREAD***

This would be the best Christmas gift anyone could give me. I'm coming to this site less and less since these idiots have taken it over. I guess I should be happy that our lil' brother fans worship us so much now, are obsessed with everything ISU, and spend all day every day over here, right? Nope..... good riddance! This site would be a lot better without them.

I couldn't agree more! I'm, increasingly, discouraged about this site with the REDUNDANT posts by these idiots (and a few ISU idiots too). Add to that, the complete 1st grade grammar and punctuation, and I find myself staying away more often. That's not to say there aren't great posters from both sides. But, the morons, are pitiful and they only tarnish the reputation of the fans as a whole. Ahhhh. The internet; a place to hide behind the mighty pen. But you can't hide stupidity.

This is my favorite week of the year to be an Iowa resident. No, as a Wildcat, I do NOT give a rip who wins the game on Saturday. Well, not true. Prefer the Clones to win because of the Big 12. I just love hearing Hawk and Clone fans go at each other. The less the intelligence level of the fans the more enjoyable the debate.

Which is why banning our Hawk guests would be a mistake.

Well it's ISU/Iowa game week and the standard "It's ISU Super bowl" talk is ramping up to a all time high..it's Iowa fans way of covering for a potential loss excuse.

Iowa fans better just throw away any thoughts of this ISU team being like last year's. Not to mention that offensively Iowa's game vs ISU was the best performance, by far, of their season and ISU's worst, by far. Vandenberg caught passes early on in that game that i doubt we see again and CJB early on was pretty much perfect...

Dont get me wrong..I'm very concerned with how ISU is going to run the ball with any success this Saturday...My one hope is that ISU doesnt lose its best D lineman because he blows by some Iowa lineman early on and the next play gets cut blocked from behind and rolls an ankle and is out rest of game...eh hum.

I'm guessing we're going to pressure Stanley a lot if he's still the starter this week

That's crazy. How do you have three fumbles and an interception when you only attempt 15 passes?

I'm pretty sure in college sacks aren't counted as pass attempts, and neither would the scramble. The 15 attempts were all throws, then the sacks are counted against his rushing stats. That is why he had 4 rushes for -23 yards. 2 sacks, the scramble and a 4 yard rush running out of the pocket.

Stanly did pretty well outside holding onto the ball when hit. The receivers dropped 3 or 4 balls, he should have been 11 or 12 for 15.

Parks first game he played he was 6 for 15 for 79 yards.

So approximately 25% of the time he didn't just hand off the ball he either threw an interception or fumbled? Lol this kid might give us a chance Saturday.

Cowboys blitzed, or showed blitz a lot. U of I had essentially a new center. The center role at U of I is bigger, if that's possible, than other places for obvious reasons. Also caused issue with A gap.

The Mighty ISU Cyclones will try to replicate. If successful, they could very well win.

But there will be some major differences in week 2.

U of I fans are going to find out that there is a lot of work to be done after week 2.

He might, and that is why breaking in a young QB is a tough deal. Park had some brutally bad games last year and Clone fans seem pretty high on him still?

Iowa 6/15, 79 yards 84.2 QB rate
TCU 7/15, 90 yards 97.1 QB rate
Oklahoma St 6/12, 93 yards 109.3 QB rate
Texas 7/13, 42 yards 87.7 QB rate
OU. 16/29, 160 yards 124.3 QB rate

Stanley 8/15 125 yards 176 QB rate

Ouch, that was some pretty brutal quarterback play for Park last year in his first year starting. So Stanley wasn’t great, but he certainly wasn’t Jacob Park bad.

Park had never played before, Iowa burnt Stanley's redshirt last year. Terrible comparison.

Plus name one game Park had 3 fumbles and an interception and Stanley just did it against Wyoming of all teams.

Why would Iowa burn his redshirt if he didn't play a meaningful down?

Apparently the coaching staff thought he was the better option as the 2 last season. But you're answering a statement with a question about something unrelated. The original point was neither qb's had played a meaningful down of football, and somehow you think this is not a fair comparison, so I'm not sure what your point is.

Stanley played meaningful football last year as @YeahBuddy pointed out. Park never had and never had a game with 3 fumbles and an interception. Terrible comparison

Agreed, Stanley has never been beaten out for 3rd string QB by someone who is now a punter so it isn't a good comparison.

Derp. You guys would give anything to have Park this year. He doesn't turn over the ball which is exactly what you guys need.
