Not that weird since they anticipated him starting this year after Beathard was gone.
He couldn't play as a redshirt freshman instead of a true sophomore or were those mop up 9 attempts really that important for him to be ready for this year?
Wait, so you think being 2nd string only means you get mop up duty in games? LOL!
He completed 5 passes. If he ends up being good Hawk fans are going to be pissed about not redshirting him I guarantee it.
Personally McSorley scares me the most of any QB Iowa faces this year. He's a good (not great) thrower and can run nearly as well as Barrett. And the weapons PSU has are very good also.
How many times has Kirk lost to ISU again?
Anything greater than 0 is too many in you guys' eyes. If we can count on anything, we can count on Iowa finding ways to underachieve against worse teams. It's happened to them from ISU multiple times, and NDSU last year was another data point.
How many times has CMC been blown by Iowa? We can count on isu for 2-3 win season and it not even slowing down clone fan delusion.
Actually as long as KF delivers a top ten season once every 4-5 years it would be hard to question his decisions. Or are 2-3 win seasons the best way to go?
isu is always starting somewhere new. 2-3 win seasons have been occurring often at isu since the 1970's.
They'll be happy to give Kirk a $5MM bonus just for beating ISU this year, all other results be damned.
Iowa could give bonuses for 6 wins but that is only a bar for bonuses at isu.
Gotta have your backups ready to go if the starters are injured. Who cares about 4 years from now anyway, as Iowa will have its next NFL draft pick sitting on the bench like Stanzi, Rudock, CJ by then.
