OK - who wins the game on Sept. 9th ?

It does make sense. You typically don't move a starter to a different position unless that position he is moving to lacks depth.

DE and DT are two completely different positions.

Iowa did much the same with Christian Ballard. He was a DE to start out and played DE 2007 and 2008. Was moved to DT in fall practice in 2009. Was 3rd team All BigTen in 2009 at DT.

Oh, you're just mad that you can't have our starting MLB line up at QB for you.

Hard pass on that, thanks though.

Iowa never even offered him out of HS, why would they want him now when Lanning got beat out by Park?

Park was destined for 4th string at UGA behind a kid who is now Georgia's staring punter and another kid that has started 1 game on UGA and 1 game at Colorado State in his entire career.

Does everything have to be an argument? TheJackWePack5 was totally correct in saying Nelson's move from DE to DT says as much about DT as it does about DE. You don't have to interpret every little thing said as an insult.

Iowa is very deep at DE. Depth was a question at DT, and Nelson's move was a response to both situations.

Again, I dont get the argument that DE is solid position group where Nelson was able to start for a good chunk of 2 years and now he moves to DT and cant crack the starting lineup and that is being interpreted as the DT spot being weak.

I totally disagree. If we don't have AJ, Matt is at DE again this year. Moving Matt was about having additional depth at DE, not about he need at DT. Does it work out well for Iowa that moving Matt inside helps the depth there? Sure it does, but that isn't the reason it was done.

Funny you rag on park so much, yet I was reading a Hawkeye article and it had Jacob Park ranked as one of the better qbs Iowa will face this year.

That's not true at all. You try to get your best talent on the line, and some players are versatile enough to play both positions in college. Christian Ballard was a perfect example of this.. started at DE as a sophomore, played DE & DT as a junior, DT as a senior. Then went in the 4th round as a DT.

If we're judging all QBs on their RS season, Iowa is doomed. You've got a guy that couldn't beat out Rudock when he was there. That was even before Harbaugh fixed him!

Stanley is Iowa's starting QB and he is a true sophomore.

He never competed with Rudock for playing time. You feelin alright?

This is exactly what I was trying to say.
