OK - who wins the game on Sept. 9th ?

Yep, everyone watching Beathard play injured the last several games of that season wondered why in the world KF kept Beathard in for so long, but I guess the truth is now known..... Beathard on one leg was still way better than Stanley at 100%.

He could not run like he did in 2015. Couldn't scramble and the defenses knew it. If he did run he looked slower. He had knee brace on in 2016. Had that hernia surgery in between seasons. Just was not the same runner last year.

Neither hok has played meaningful minutes so they are virtual unkonowns. Park played meaningful minutes and was impressive.

Stanley was a 3 star #22 ranked PRO QB-offers from iowa, Pitt and Wisky I think he got some late interest from Michgan St.
Weigers was a three star #24 ranked PROS QB-offers from iowa and Rutgers

Park-4 star #5 ranked PRO QB- offers from Georgia, Alabama, Auburn, FSU, NC, NCSt, ND, VT.

So based on the on field performance...Park has the advantage
So based on recruiting- Park has the advantage.

Park didn't have a single other offer when he signed with ISU. Iowa's QB had much better offers than Park when they signed with Iowa than Park did when he signed with ISU. Advantage Iowa.

Park had a higher passer rating last year than Bethard. Better TD/IN ratio. Better completion % and according to iowa hok fans played behind a worse OL with worse RBs.

Park numbers was the product of a spread system, and playing in the defense optional Big12. He doesn't have the talent of CJ or even Rudock for that matter.

Park didn't have a single other offer when he committed to ISU.

I still don't understand your point? He was a 4* recruit out of HS that everyone wanted. CMC and company were smart enough to find him playing in a church league and grabbed him. Nobody else probably even knew he was out there to be had.

Point still stands.... the kid has mad skills to be rated that high out of HS. And he showed some of his abilities last year while playing in the Big 12 and as someone said, beating Beathard in many passing stats. But you say Iowa's QBs which have proven NOTHING will be better than him. Great intelligent analysis there on your part. I think they call that Hawk Logic, don't they?

Was he hurt or injured? If he's just hurt and an NFL caliber player I think you keep him in there.

Believe he pulled a hamstring. Having had one, very hard to move quickly. No one will argue that the passing game in general did not suck last year but I don't believe it was Beathard's fault. Many factors at play.

Kirk played a kid with a pulled hamstring? Are you freaking kidding me?

Yet Kirk kept playing him. We already know Kirk doesn't care about risking kid's futures by running them to the ground in order to win (Scherff, Ott, rhabdo, etc.).

You do understand how TD/INT ratios and completion %'s work, right? They have NOTHING to do with what kind of system you play in, or how often your offense throws the ball.

Even passer rating isn't that affected by what offense you run.

Prediction. 31-17 Iowa. Close game but Iowa scores a late TD by running game. Iowa picks off Park 2 times and ISU looks to change QBs as they sit 0-2. Iowa will be 1-1

I think Kirk let CJ play be cause CJ was hurt, not injured. I remember last year hearing rumblings of CJ really screwing up his knee, then he came out with a brace, and he proceeded not to run much.
