Iowa Football Recruiting

Do you really believe this is how the recruiting rankings will end? Iowa is sitting pretty good for next year's class. Biggest reason a lot of teams are ahead of Iowa is because they have more recruits. Iowa has a better average than many teams in front of them. ISU is three behind them at present and has one more recruit. I can bet that Iowa finishes in the 6-10 range when all is said and done. Right where they usually are with a solid class.

I could see Iowa finishing 12th-14th for sure.

Toledo #1 > ISU #9

Maybe CMC recruited well at Toledo because it is a bigger brand than ISWho?

I can't believe after like 5 weeks and 5 different reiterations of this he is still getting nibbles.

I'll admit, this is why he is a legend.

Absolutely not Bama is a football school they're always going to recruit well.

Basically they are going to recruit to their historical average and fill out their class with those kind of players. Iowa will also fill out their class to their historical average and probably finish in the 35-50 range again. Not hard to understand.

Yeah, not even sure why I engage with him anymore. But sometimes I can't resist. There is no way that even he can believe half the stuff that he spews on this board and I bet most ISU fans are embarrassed by his non-stop trolling ways.

Speaking of Bama I am surprised Slade Bolden hasn't received the "Bama bump" in recruiting rankings yet.

Guessing his Composite ends up over 0.900

Hard to call it the "Bama Bump", when all they do is win the hardest conference in country year in and year out and play in national championship. They have proven the players they get are the best of the best.

Big 12 is in great shape now but don't let that get in the way of Hawkeye fans fantasy that ISU gets left out of a P6 conference. If anything I'd be worried about you guys being 14th in your own conference which is worse than Rhoads ever did at ISU.

Iowa State is actually going to be okay. 16th nationally in attendance in basketball. Football attendance is approaching 60,000 average paid attendance. Quality academics. Large student enrollment. New facilities. Iowa State has come a long ways from the days of Clyde Williams Field and the Armory.

I actually couldn't disagree more. I think the no visit policy really is going to hurt Iowa moving forward. I would expect the 2019 class to fall apart before signing day as well as kids want to check out their options.

If Campbell can start squeezing out 6+ wins every year (tall task, I know), then we'll finally have some respectability in football. Unfortunately, we're still a long way from there.

Oh they have definitely proven they are the best.

But you can't deny that those types of ratings bumps happen when recruits choose blue bloods.

Had Bolden chosen TCU I doubt his rating would go to what it will at Alabama.

But for good reason. If you commit to Bama, then you must be one hell of a football player and why they usually get a bump.

ISU drew 52,500 last year, that was down 7% from 2015 and is approaching 50,000, not 60,000

Iowa State has a Kicker and a Punter included which brings down the average.
