Iowa Football Recruiting

Of course I would ? A lot of people would and did. I can link more articles if you want.
Sure, have at it.

Until Texas starts producing like they used to, I'm sure Big 12 numbers will be down.

Not to mention Big 12 numbers are always going to be low given that they have 2-4 less teams than other conferences.

The Big 12 had 26 picks in 2016 , 25 in 2015. 17 in 2014, 22 in 2013.

It's not like 14 was in a line of steady decline. If the Big 12 has that few of draft picks again, then I'll be concerned.

Your statement about having low overall numbers (because there are less teams) makes sense, only until you realize Big 12 teams averaged significantly less NFL draft picks per team - as compared to all other Major conferences (in 2017). I get it though, you want to see more proof that the Big 12 is in trouble....and I have no problem waiting (along with you), to see it implode.

It could actually turn out ok. During his combine interviews it'd be pretty easy for him to make his case... if he'd gone to ND and dropped passes from an NFL-level QB it would look much worse than going to ISU and dropping passes from a middle linebacker.

He probably needs to make sure scouts don't see last years Iowa game. Might be hard to sell them on being an NFL worthy WR when you are chased down from behind by a former 2 star LB recruit.

Yikes.

How are you not an NFL fan? Best product with at least a little parity.

I love the NFL but it has nothing to do my feelings about ISU football. I think the alarming thing is neither team in the state can win bowl games anymore (pre CMC of course). Developing NFL talent would be very far down my list especially since it obviously isn't affecting recruiting.

The Big12 has always been in flux. ESPN pretty much kept the league in existence with their deal with them to keep teams from jumping ship. That was before all The cord cutting, and that deal won't be around Come the next negotiations.

Big 12 is in great shape now but don't let that get in the way of Hawkeye fans fantasy that ISU gets left out of a P6 conference. If anything I'd be worried about you guys being 14th in your own conference which is worse than Rhoads ever did at ISU.

You must feel crushed for AL. Think how much choosing ISU will cost him. Ugh.

I wouldn't, AL has no class and tries to troll other teams on Twitter that are playing in BCS level bowl games.

Compare that to someone like Jok who gave ISU seniors props on Twitter after they got beat out by Purdue and you can really be proud, as a Hawk fan, of the types of student athletes that are being groomed in Iowa City.

I guess I must have been confused when you said "not an NFL fan".

But I digress.

Iowa State has a grand total of 3 wins in their existence.

Yes. 9th > 14th

Do you really believe this is how the recruiting rankings will end? Iowa is sitting pretty good for next year's class. Biggest reason a lot of teams are ahead of Iowa is because they have more recruits. Iowa has a better average than many teams in front of them. ISU is three behind them at present and has one more recruit. I can bet that Iowa finishes in the 6-10 range when all is said and done. Right where they usually are with a solid class.

Allen Lazard is an entitled college athlete. He could lead a less about how to be gracious from Jok.
