Iowa Football Recruiting

My prediction was 14+, not 21. Expecting a 2 TD win is not delusional, especially when considering Iowa will be in week 2 with a new QB. At that point there is still a lot more thinking than reacting going on. We've seen that play out in Ames HOW many times?

In addition, I never thought Beathard was all that good, but in hindsight he was. His shoes will be bigger to fill than most are realizing.
Your prediction, yes. He's stated it would be a 21+ point win many times.

And I stand by that prediction. Iowa will be in for a very long season. The more I think about, they could be in for a 4 win type of year.

I hope you're right but history and everything I know about football says otherwise. You're grossly underestimating the importance of line play. It doesn't matter how good Park is if he doesn't have a clean pocket. Watch last year's heisman winner in his bowl game vs LSU for an example.

We are going to be much better up front than we were last year. On defense we will stack the box much like we did the last game we won in Iowa City, and there is nothing Iowa will be able to do about it. Offensively, we are going to score. A lot.

We did stack it and it didn't matter.

Look at 1:29:40 for a perfect example...

It's impossible to stack it more than we did there. 10 in the box and not even on the goal line. Smh.

We will be much better on defense this year. I can't watch the film of that garbage last year. We looked like lost puppies out there.

Teams with 100x better defensive talent than ISU have been staking the box for over a decade vs Iowa. As @The_Gent video showed with 10 men in the box, Wadley ripped off a big run.

I predict Wadley gets 1-3 big runs this year against us. That's why you score 17. Outside of that, not much offense for you.

I know it is confusing to a ISU fan, but that is what you call #RunBlocking

Besides that game was over and done with at that point, Iowa wasn't even hardly trying any longer.
Iowa State had given up, and Iowa was so excited that they got to win their most important game of the year.

I watched some other Iowa games and they were never firing off the ball like that. I was at the game and I remember watching their sideline and thinking "wow are they like this for every game?" and then when I saw clips of the sideline in other games it looked like they were sleeping compared to the ISU game.

You can't run the Suoer Bowl troll, and frankly it is beneath you anyway, so just give it up.

I pretty much never expect to beat ISU any longer. I know we are 9-5 over the last 14 years vs ISU, but I have seen us get beaten too many times to ever feel confident in this game. What I do know is that if ISU wins it is typically a tight game. If Iowa wins it is typically by 10+ points.

I agree that most of the time the games are tight, especially when we win. I think this is the first year the mold is broken. I really like our team this year, and I honestly feel like this is one of those transition years for Iowa.

CMC cares about beating Iowa more than winning Big 12 games. He said it himself. I'm sure it's tight though and competing in the Big 12 is a very close runner-up in his mind. Which is a good thing. I'd hate having a coach who couldn't get his guys fired up for every game, or who fostered a culture of giving up when they're down. He's better than that.
