Iowa Football Recruiting

You're delusional.

A) when is the last time we beat iowa by +21?

B) you're really expecting a +60 swing?!?
This is a new day. Everything is in our favor, so yes, CJ is not the quarterback, they don't know who their quarterback is. They lost most of their best players. The first few games for us were a circus last year. We may have beaten them by the end of last year. They are the ones implementing a new system this year. We have more talent. We will win the game bigger than we ever have before.

Anybody thinking ISU will win this game by 2 TD's is crazy. ISU will have their hands full with Iowa's rushing attack.

It isnt like life will be terribly difficult for the Iowa QB in Ames because they will have to put 8-9 guys in the box. If they choose not to, ISU defenders will be seeing the back of #25 in white a lot.

If you think blocking assignments in a new offense will be smooth as glass by week two, you are crazy. If we were playing in week 9, I wouldn't be making such a statement. But we aren't.

Assuming we enter the game healthy, our offensive line will be as good as yours. And our offense is going to smoke yours.

Blocking assignments in the exact same running offense are the same.

Uhh, BF was the run game coordinator at Iowa as well as the OL coach. The run blocking schemes are not going to change at all.

And the bolded part doesnt even deserve a response.

My prediction was 14+, not 21. Expecting a 2 TD win is not delusional, especially when considering Iowa will be in week 2 with a new QB. At that point there is still a lot more thinking than reacting going on. We've seen that play out in Ames HOW many times?

In addition, I never thought Beathard was all that good, but in hindsight he was. His shoes will be bigger to fill than most are realizing.

Typical Clone rationale. They rip on Iowa players saying they arent good during their career as a Hawkeye and then when they are gone it turns to "how are you ever going to replace _____" or "_______ leaves some big shoes to fill".

QBs do succeed despite their time in Iowa City.

I would have tried to change the subject as well.

Why do you think Iowa's OL will struggle with blocking schemes they have been using they came into the program?

I don't care and in fact am not really paying attention to anything you say. I just love your av. Anyone who feels that strongly about 'Used Cars' is ok in my book. Fairly obscure, fun flick. Well done.

Yeah, he was pretty good. Amazing to think that 3 of the last 4 starting QBs for Iowa have been drafted, with the 4th guy getting a shot as an UDFA with my Vikings. Kirk and staff can sure identify QB talent, that is for sure. Thanks for reminding us, going to be a good game in Sep.

Our offense is going to be one of the best in the Big 12. It's going to be very good. Defensively we just have more depth. We have an outstanding secondary, and a leader at LB who I believe will be a difference maker.

ISU won't even be in the top 1/2 offensively in the Big12. To get there last year, ISU would have had to 70 more yards per game. Not a chance in the world ISU is gonna gain more yards than OU, OSU, Tech, Texas and a Baylor/TCU/WVU.

Defensively ISU could be the best in the Big12 and all that would mean is they are still a bad defense.

OU will be very good offensively. OSU maybe also. I think we will be better than everyone else. We have a stud QB, great receivers, and fantastic running backs to go with a much improved offensive line.

I will give you this much, you keep me laughing. I got to keep track of this stuff.

1) ISU beats IOwa by 21
2) ISU will 3rd in the Big12 offensively
4) ISU could win 8 games

Is this due to CMC being better than all the other Big12 coaches? Or is it the massive talent advantage ISU has with the #7 ranked Big12 recruiting class coming in?

This due to:
1- Jacob Park is an absolute stud. He's going to put up huge numbers this year.
2- Lazard and the receiver corp is extremely talented.
3- Very good running backs
4- Great offensive line coach who turned a dumpster fire into a respectable line last year. They will be much better this year.
5- More depth on defense with an excellent secondary

Things are lined up to have a much better season than we've seen in awhile.

I expect to see a well coached team this year. It took awhile last year but you could start to see the change. After a full year in the program, a lot of this stuff will be cleaned up. Unlike CPR, CMC is a really good coach. I am very excited about the season. I think we get 6 or 7 wins, and if the ball bounces our way, I could even seeing us get 8 (although that is unlikely).

See, that wasn't hard. The last sentence is very reasonable and I actually agree with you. I think ISU wins 6 games and goes to a bowl.

You do realize their OC was the o-line coach last year, right? There will be no blocking assignment changes for them.
