All Iowa Football Team

How is that the case? We aren't playing the same teams but we do play head to head. And if ISU ends up say 5-7 or 6-6 and Iowa is say 8-4 is the ISU calculus that then ISU is really better even if Iowa wins the game in Ames this year? Just trying to get this mapped out in my head so I know the rules for the season going into it before it starts.

Why wouldn't that be the case? If you are picking players for an all-Iowa team, do you really base it totally on one game? Maybe you put some extra weight on Cy-Hawk, but those players are still not going head to head, they're going against the opposite side of the ball. Makes very little difference who has the better season and who wins one game when you are comparing individual players. Iowa could be 9-3 or 3-9 and Lazard would still have a place on this team even if he went catchless vs them.

So you don't agree with CyTwins when he is trying to do this preseason stuff? How you can you choose if no games have been played at all?

I think the biggest question marks would be:

Wadley or Montgomery if you only had one RB
Fant or Allen
The final two OL after Campos, Welsh and Daniels
The entire DL
The final two DB's after Cotton Moya and Peavy

Wadley over Montgomery isn't really that big a question mark if you're being objective, though the gap between the two may not be as huge as some hok fans think.

Didn't Allen redshirt last year?

I'd go Boettger and Good Jones to round out the OL.

M. Nelson, Bazata, Bailey, A. Nelson would be the best four DL but you'd end up with three DEs and one DT. Lima hasn't played a down at this level.

The only Iowa DB I'd add to the three from ISU is Snyder.

Can't argue with any of the points listed here.

I think Rugamba will be pretty good and could play his way onto that list.

Allen did redshirt last year. He still looks a little slender to me but I'm guessing they don't want him too much heavier than he is. The coaches also really like Dylan Soehner at TE, another RS Fr.

Here's my list:

Allen was going to play until he got hurt

FWIW they are very very high on Lima.

I'd take Lanning in short yardage over your stable of 5 NFL backs and he's not even listed at RB for ISU.

I would take Lanning over Park on the goal line as a QB, no doubt. As a RB though, no way.

At least nobody tried to troll that they would take Lanning at MLB over Jewell

What a weird post from a weird poster.

Honestly haven't heard of any of Iowa's players outside the bigger names.

But, I don't think there's any way you can choose Montgomery over Wadley. Maybe by end of year you can make that argument, but at this point it's no question.

Vandenberg most definitely deserves to be No. 2 as well.

QB- Park, not even a question

RB- Wadley is best, but you'd want Montgomery in there a lot to keep Wadley fresh and alive.

WR- Lazard close over Vandy due to Vandy's injury, but the next 4 or 5 on the depth chart would all be Cyclones.

TE- Probably Fant with some experience, but Allen is much more athletic and homerun threat.

OL- Give me all Hawkeyes until ISU has an OL that shows it can push UNI around. Campos should be able to crack the All Iowa starting lineup, but with his injuries, I'm not sure about that.

DEFENSE

Interior DL- Give me both Hawks until Lima shows something.

DE- A. Nelson, Bailey

LBs- Harvey, and 2 Hawks

CBs- Peavy and Payne all day.

S- KCM and then a toss up between Taylor and Wilkerson
