All Iowa Football Team

I think the biggest question marks would be:

Wadley or Montgomery if you only had one RB
Fant or Allen
The final two OL after Campos, Welsh and Daniels
The entire DL
The final two DB's after Cotton Moya and Peavy
For just this upcoming season, I would rather have Wadley. Since Montgomery is only a sophomore it changes things.

Vandeberg should definitely be on there. The last year he was healthy he had 60+ receptions and over 700 yards in a crappy passing offense. He is a prototypical slot guy. Knows how to get open and has great hands. The top 3 receivers would be Lazard, Vandeberg and Jones.

And speaking of receiving threats. With Fant, Allen and Hockenson at TE that would be the best collection of young TE talent in the country. RBs would be stacked with Montgomery, Wadley, Butler and Warren. OL would be great. They could have one of the best offenses in the country.

Yeah. I had a Hawk fan tell me BOTH of their receivers are better than Lazard.

Leaving either Lazard or VandeBerg off the list is equally insane

I'm fairly pessimistic about Lazard's NFL future....but he is an amazing college level player.

Reminds me of what Iowa had Inn marvin McNutt a couple years ago

Meh- according to the latest depth chart he's fighting Spencer Benton for that spot. Trent & Waggoner have been career backups. Lima certainly has all the measurables. Hopefully he can bring it at this level.

I think Good-Jones has the brightest future on our offensive line actually. Hard to argue against Iowa's experience up front, though.
JaQuan Bailey will get most of the snaps. He started 7 games as a true freshman last year and led the team in sacks.

Also, Waggoner started 6 games in 2015 and would have started more last year before season ending injury. Trent started 4 games last year. So "career back ups" isn't true.

I hope Lima is a great player, however we've yet to see him play a single snap since JUCO. I'd say DL should be 3 Hawkeyes (A Nelson, M Nelson, Bazata) and Jaquon Bailey.

It's a toss-up for me at the #3 LB between Willie Harvey and Bo Bower.

4 person secondary should have 3 Cyclones though (Peavy, Payne, and KCM)

This would be fun to do in the middle and end of the seasons.

Montgomery, career (one year):

563 yards, 5.2 YPC, 2 TD, 13 catches, 129 yards

Wadley, career:

1763 yards, 6.2 YPC, 18 TD, 43 catches, 408 yards, 4 TD

tossup

Wadley wasn't even a starter for Iowa last year. If Daniels was still at Iowa I would put him ahead of Montgomery.

Montgomery had equal/better numbers as a true freshman behind a below average offensive line than Wadley did as a redshirt sophomore behind a very good offensive line.
