That is a good question. I'm guessing Blair heard it from the player himself. I don't know the validity of it, but I do trust and respect Blair. I can confirm that he posted this on the Lounge, for whatever that's worth.
There's an obsession right now in Iowa City with the way Campbell and staff recruit. It was only a matter of time before we started to hear "stories".
It really doesn't make sense for our staff to say things like that to recruits. What's the benefit?
An ISU insider named Clair told me this never happened and he heard this directly from this short DT recruit
If he could grow a couple inches like every Iowa basketball recruit is projected to do he could be a solid addition
Campbell has not recruited better than stale, outdated Iowa his first 2 classes and I would be shocked if ISU has a better class than Iowa in 2018.
Why would the Iowa staff be obsessed about a staff that cant even crack the Top 50 nationally in recruiting?

Look at how many millions of dollars "short" Mike Daniels has made and he was headed to Villanova until Iowa offered.
Imagine what this staff can do with Shannon who has several P5 offers.
With Iowa's proven success it makes sense to just follow each and every move we make.
