Unfortunately this doesn't count as a Dawin candidate, as they have already managed to reproduce and she is pregnant with the second child.
Well there you have it, 50 caliber weapons are meant to destroy material like cars and armor. I don't even think the thickest book in the world would stop a bullet. Sad to hear this happen, but stupid people are going to do stupid things.
Yeah, I wouldn't even consider the idea that a book would stop a 50 caliber bullet from a foot out.
Apparently he shot a different book and it didn't go through. So, she must have used a different gun, distance/angle, ammo or just a thinner book. Either way, stupid people.

I've shot a .50 cal DE before. The kickback is something I can't even describe. I have to wonder if she even hit the book. Not saying that matters but I can't imagine someone her size handling that beast.

*Story sharing time*
A few years ago, I shot 5 round through a Barrett .50 cal at an annual training. By the 3rd round, I wanted to say **** it and walk away from the gun. I thought it would be awesome and fun but nope. It destroyed every single one of my senses. It kicked like a mule and it throw up sand, rocks and dust. Literally 15 minutes later, I put 20 shells through a 12 gauge shot gun and it felt like a .22 compared to the Barrett.
I shot my great-great grandfather's .54 musket that he carried in the Civil War. Damn thing is about 9 feet long and it weighs about 572 pounds, mostly in the barrel. Seriously, though, I know guns and knew what a kick it was going to give me - especially since there's no recoil pad, just a steel plate on the butt - and I still felt like I got hit with a truck. Good thing it took a long time to reload those things!!!!
It's unfornate the lion wasn't more defensive.
This and the guy who fell into a geyser this week are up there.
