It's how I memorized the books of the Bible waaaay back when. :D
My high school chemistry teacher was actually a physics teacher who had a friendly rivalry with the chemistry teacher (always making fun of chemists). He was a great teacher and to this day I can name the order of atomic orbital shells (SPDFGCK) because of his teaching method. Super Physicists Don't Find Gold in Chemist's Kitchens.

It still takes me 3 tries to get the name right when calling one of my children.

My brain is weird. I'm with you KC. The long-term vs. short-term memory things just gets more pronounced.

Boxster, I haven't even got the road bike out yet and it's about 51/2 weeks to the big ride. I would imagine at this point you could probably drop my fat ass.

@cyrevkah Only one of my 4 has seen the new Beauty and the Beast, and she is the only one not home right now. ;) My youngest 2 want to see it. I almost grabbed it at the Fareway rental box last Friday but I didn't.

I made 3 trips to 2 different schools by 9am this morning. I thought it was summer?! Thankfully my next 2 trips can be combined into 1 as the 11yr old ends science/engineering camp just 15min before the oldest needs to be at school for batting practice before the softball bus leaves this afternoon. I will also have made 2 trips to Leid. Swim lessons are at Forker so we get a pass to park at the rec center. The 11yr old has ISU volleyball camp this week.

That sounds like a fun time! I don't know how you do it...
I saw the new B&tB, I thought it was amazing. The songs were done wonderfully. My favorite is the updated "Gaston." Definitely brought back some great childhood memories. I can't believe it's on video already. I'll be picking that up now.
Wish I could send my girl to CJLs camp. But she chose softball, so we're sending her to Alabama softball camp, she leaves Sunday. Pretty exciting.

My wife put "My Fair Lady" on last night as we were going to bed. I found myself singing along to nearly every song despite having not heard the musical since we did the production in high school. My memory is weird.

I can still sing the parts for Damn Yankees and Fiddler. Crazy for You is a bit shaky.

Genesis Exodus Leviticus Numbers Deuteronomy Joshua Judges Ruth 1 Samuel 2 Samuel 1 Kings 2 Kings 1 Chronicles 2 Chronicles Ezra Nehemiah Esther Job Psalms Proverbs Ecclesiastes Song of Songs. That's all from memory.

I'll spare you the recitation, but I was always a bit proud that I could rip through the minor prophet books without hesitation.

Pride is one of the deadly sins. Drat. ;)

I could name all 66 no problem back in 8th grade.

all this bike talk makes me kinda want to bike even though I don't do that

hold your horses on me running stuff next year! Haven't run since my April race.........not sure about doing a 10k later this summer/fall

I'm good with spreadsheet making though ;)

I swear there is a muscle memory for songs. I can still never remember the bass clef scale nor the > < signs but by God I'll sing word for word that song that was hot for a month in 1998.

Orphans in Africa are counting on you. Suck it up and run.
That goes for @BoxsterCy as well.

It's nothing fancy obviously so if you're not running heavy software or trying to watch 4K video, just browsing and typing documents and stuff like that it's perfect. I'll sell it cheap too. Just didn't like the smaller screen and lower resolution and no backlit keyboard.

I'm half serious and half kidding, but curious.
@GTO sounds like he's more in the market than I am. Freakin' cutthroat....
