Iowa Football Recruiting

Wait it sounds like it did come from the program. So yeah it's definitely Iowa's Super Bowl

Ferentz hardly displays a public “rah-rah” persona before any game. His levelheaded approach upsets some Iowa fans, who accused him after losses of not placing enough importance on the series.

But Ferentz’s public comments and actions belie that perception. The program has placed Iowa State posters on doors in its football facility.

“I think the bottom line is for any player or anybody that hasn’t been associated with the game, they need to understand there is a different degree of intensity in this game. That’s just the way it’s going to be,” Ferentz said in 2009. “It’s the way it has been going 10 years back.”

Players seem to agree too

“Coach (Kirk) Ferentz sits us down and said, ‘This is Iowa State, and they don’t like us,’” Iowa senior linebacker Quinton Alston said. “This is our rivalry game — the Cy-Hawk Game — and it’s a big game for the city and the state. So there’s not much to talk about.”

“I just hate Iowa State,” Iowa linebacker Fred Barr said. “I hate those guys. I can’t stand them.

“They’ve been so cocky the last couple of years just because they’ve beaten us a few times. I mean if I even see red, it makes me sick.”

My personal favorite

“When people think rivalries, the first that comes up is Iowa State,” Iowa cornerback Shaun Prater said in 2011.

It's a big rivalry. Yourself or anyone arguing that either UI or ISU care less is tired and played out. Both teams care, it means a lot for both teams and their respective fan bases. I know it gets a rise out of some of the mouth breathers on this board, but people from either fan base perpetuating the myth that one team cares less than the other is honestly just lazy and unoriginal.

I think you're misunderstanding what I'm saying. The game is a big game and it's both teams rivalry game. The fan bases care equally the only difference is Iowa's program treats it like it's their Super Bowl and Campbell and company do not

Yes, coaches that have control of their program and their staff have control of what is being put in players lockers and what is being hung up in the football facilities

isu's coaches spend that much time policing their tiny facilities. No wonder Campbell sleeps at his desk. I wonder how he finds to time to offer 3,256 kids scholarships with all the policing he does to keep a poster from making an appearance.

Is this why we beat you 42-3? You and CMC are going to be damn sure to cling to a myth.

Mythity myth man.

Let me clarify. Iowa's football program treats the ISU game like it's their Super Bowl. ISU's football program does not

Can you not read?

The program has placed Iowa State posters on doors in its football facility.

I read just fine. You said Iowa coaches did it. Iowa has medical staff that are a part of the program. Nutrition folks are part of the program. Janitors are part of the program. Academic support teams are part of the program. Construction and facilities people are part of the program.

Find a link that says Iowa coaches put it up like you said they did.

Or should we now start reading what isn't there?

Iowa's football program puts up ISU posters for their big game, they don't put up any other teams posters for any other game

Iowa puts up posters for many games. You claim Iowa coaches put up an isu "official poster" and I called bs. In fact I went on to tell you where the pic came from and how it could have easily been from Pollards puppet Randy Peterson.

Iowa's football program only puts up other teams posters for their Super Bowl against Iowa State. I provided a link where Iowa's program put up ISU posters, please provide me a link of the program putting up another team's poster

You might want to read your link again. It doesn't say Iowa put up "other team's poster".

The myth has gone so deep that now we must read things that aren't there.
