Wallace Franklin

On bad terms with the team then get arrested after fall practice has started, after Chizik has said these 3 weeks are football 24-7 and after he has said he wont put up with stuff like this. I think it is a fair bet to say Mr. Franklin's playing days are over.

crime doesn't pay.back in the dirty 30 days dave hoppman,bill smith(fullback from grundy center),and **** scesniak
(guard)and i would lay on the floor in a frat where hoppmann and scesniak lived and we would study for 4 straight hours.at about 10;30 p.m. we would head down town for a brewski. every time
we went down town there was always some non-jock butthole that would want to pick a fight with you.hoppy, smitty ,scesniak, and i would finish the job,get the hell out of dodge and we never got caught in our altercations
the local non pubbers(non athletes)were always trying to pick a fight with hoppman since he was the star tailback on one of the
dirty 30 teams.we would end up back to back, throwng
punches at our challengers either in a bar or in the street after leaving a pub.my point is there is always some butthole trying
to instigate a brawl with some jock whether it be a footballer, basketballer, wrestler or another athlete from the isu
campus. i imagine the same climate exists for isu's current athletes. always some one around to start an altercation with our student athletes.

I swear, sometimes it seems like the RAGister uses CF as a news source. How is it that both of these arrests happened months ago (one of them we already knew about) but it's not until someone on CF starts asking questions and finding a few answers that the RAG suddenly decides to look into WF's status? I mean, we already know the RAG uses the Iowa City Press Citizen as a source, but CF too? I guess we should feel special...

The paper writers are bums. The Ames Trib and ICPC seem to be the only ones who actually work anymore.

But good call on the RAG, this is no doubt an Andrew Logue drive by reporting straight off CF

If Wallace was going to be gone, I think it would have happened already.

We've all done dumb things and I'm not without experience with the APD while a student but two arrests in just a couple of months? C'mon man get you're head out!

There's technology on these computers that lets you put a capital letter where needed. There is even a space bar to space out from your periods. It would make that post 2 minutes faster to read and might actually make me smarter instead of more stupid

Nonetheless, funny read and I bet that does happen all the time!

There isn't any indication that Franklin's status has changed one bit. He has been suspended since the spring and the only thing that has changed is that he had another arrest after the first incident. I haven't gotten any word that he's been given the boot, or will any time soon. I think the plan is to let the legal process be handled in the "formal" process and go from there.

Can someone please define "formal" process? I've never heard of it used in practice :skeptical:

Can't we just encourage him to take it through the "in house informal" CF process? Maybe he can just tell us his side of the story. We'll put up a poll and let people vote whether he's guilty or not. I'm it's just so much more convenient to do it that way.

If we have him, great. If not - so be it. It's not like he had any impact last year. For the most part, he'd slow the progression of one or two of our younger athletes with greater upside potential.

Agreed. I do hope that the kid is able to clean himself up and be on the team, but if not, there are guys waiting in the wings.

Wallace was brought in because this team needs speed, I think Sed and Carlson will fill this gap if need be.

This would be a bigger loss then you guys are thinking it would, he is hands down the fastest player on the field and provides a great deep threat that'd have to stretch the defense. If he's gone, I hope the rumblings of Carlson's speed is true.

I don't see how it can be said that this wouldn't be a somewhat big loss.

I guess my thought is that ISU Football has shown me over the years that we need every player eligible to have a decent chance of winning any given game, and that hasn't changed yet. We may hopefully be on the path to an era where each player isn't as critical, but we aren't there yet and have a long way to go.
