U of I loses $1.4 million in lawsuit

He personally hasn't been charged . He is the main reason that Iowa violated the law. Pretty sure he also was quoted as saying if he broke the law, he thinks he could be fired.

I am no lawyer, but my understanding of the case was that it was a civil case. There was no guilty verdict of any laws being broken.

Let's give @CyTwins what he is looking for here. A little Hawk on Hawk throw down.

I'm not sure why any Hawk fan would support Barta personally. The sheer fact he gave Ferentz a 10 year contract was sheer stupidity. Then he goes and mucks up the Griesbaum firings, then he gives Ferentz another 10 year contract and then he mucks up the Meyer trial. I just don't get what there is to support with this guy. He should have been gone long ago.

I don't follow much of the lawsuits or anything about what happens past the arena or field much. Having said that, I was not a fan of either 10 year contract to Ferentz. Not sure if that warrants to be fired or not, but lets just say I'm not a fan and wouldn't be too upset if he was let go.

Hawkeye fans think for themselves and often disagree. That is what happens when you don't buy the Kool Aid all the time. Clone fans have a hive mentality. Pollard says "Raise the Standard" and you all say CMC is the greatest he is raising the standard. Hoiberg leaves and Prohm come in. You all say Prohm > Hoiberg. Rhoads wins 7 and 5 game so and you all claim he will dominate the state. Pollard has the worst performing football program of P5 schools and you all love him and think he isn't doing super awesome.

All CLones think as one with no individual thought into anything. It is comical.

Will this make you feel better when Bowlsby's mistakes cost isu a spot in a P5 conference?

So what if isu is in a league on par with the MAC what is better is that some Hawk fans disagreed with MVCchamps.

Saying you werent OK with the extensions really only means you wanted KF fired at some point over the last 7-8 years.

The only beef that Iowa fans I know had with the extension was the large buyout. Only reason the buyout would come into play is if you were looking to can KF.

The mishandling if Meyer is major. I dont think it warrants getting rid of Barta though.

I don't want Ferentz to go anywhere. That doesn't mean I want him to have a 10 year contract given to him. Who exactly was Barta bidding against anyway? He should have just kept extending Ferentz 1 year to keep him at 5 years. Instead Barta gets taken to the freaking back shed and is whipped like crazy by Ferentz agent yet again.

I just don't get it. Barta is spineless. He can't handle Ferentz agent, and he couldn't even handle a bad employee. He let that whole thing fester for years until he couldn't ignore it any longer. Then when he finally took action be completely s**t the bed.

You wanted to keep one of the best coaches in Iowa history on a 5 year contract that just renews itself every year? Thankfully, you are not the AD. KF would have bolted 15 years ago for Jacksonville.

Um Barta wasn't the AD 15 years ago either. He would have botched that one somehow too at that time if he was.
