U of I loses $1.4 million in lawsuit

So, let me get this straight, you don't think this is a big story?
Lay it on out for us, guy. Is this a big deal or isn't it? What's your opinion on the reaction to the outcome? There are still multiple stories about it, on the Des Moines Register's sports section website. Are they just overreacting? Or engaging in rivalry smacktalk? What's your take? What should the appropriate level of discussion be?
Also, I trust we won't find any threads on the Bubo Palo trial or Steven Leath's airplane hijinks on any Iowa message board, will we?

Well... I mean those were big stories because they didn't paint the U of I in a bad light.

Great job though by Jane's lawyers to mange to pick the entire jury and get all Cyclone fans to render the 8-0 verdicts on all counts; at least that is what I have heard from iowa fans.

It wasnt a big story here until the UI was found guilty. Not sure how that is so hard to understand.

You're avoiding the vast majority of my question. Is it a big story? Is it something that the Register is right to be featuring on their sports page website?

Pretty simple yes or no.

Lol, brainwashed by insurance companies. Umm not even close. I've seen plenty of activists go to a jury trial with all the evidence / constitution or whatever on their side and they still convict without hardly a hesitation. It's the design of the system from a judge sitting in a dress and making up any lies they want to tell the jury and starts with hand picked juries to begin. They tend to default to the "authority" figure and rarely think for themselves.

Sincerely,
V. Putin

Big story to the DM Register, absolutely.

Big story here? Only because the U of Iowa was found guilty.

You are right, it was a very simple question.

So, going forward, do you have a preferred email address, where we can forward potential thread topics for approval, or is the one you registered with okay?
It's been discussed ad nausem on the local sports talk radio shows, all over the local papers, and on the local news shows, but you're right. It has no business being discussed here.

Man, you're a turd

So if you're a mod, you probably can't put people on ignore right, well except universal forever ignore I guess? That would be painful.

Down goes Buddy.
Nah, YeahBuddy does more harm to his cause than good. The proverbial jester in the court. Eventually, I'm sure he'll cease to amuse, but until then his verbal acrobatics are good for a chuckle

I mean, look at the contortions he's going through, to try to downplay the Meyer story. I doubt he even buys his own line of bull ****, but it's not about what's true or even believable for him. It's about duty. Defending the Hoks on CF is his job, and damned if facts and logic are going to keep him from doing it.

The chairperson of the jury was a Cyclone fan. Does this c

It is too much like kicking the neighbor's puppy when it wanders into your yard. Better to put up a fence.

Iowa fan steals from Iowa players, Barta warns Big 12 schools.
Iowa AD attempts illegal ticket sales for tuition scheme because of attendance issues, told to knock it off, then 2 years later gives the coach an extension.
Iowa AD found guilty on descrimimation (and other) charges. Still has another case pending.

At some point Iowa needs to cut bait.

It's a feel good story regarding truth, justice and the American way.

So you never answered my question.

Why wasnt this huge news story talked about here between the time the lawsuit was announced and the guilty verdict?

And if the verdict was not guilty, do you honestly think a thread would have been started about it?

It doesn't matter who stole from the Iowa Locker room, it is still ISU responsibility to secure the locker room. I'm sure ISU football players don't want ISU fans rumaging through their visitors locker at an away game.

Or are you saying that there are not thieves that are ISU fans?

This interview with Jane on KXNO pretty much confirms, in my mind, the way that I would've voted on the jury. Pretty much a died in the wool socialist who thinks that everyone is the same and we all deserve the exact same things in life. Whining about the women's facilities in comparison to the men's and trying to assert that revenue doesn't matter. Umm ok. can ISU start whining about how Oregon has superior facilities to ISU? And you were assistant AD with I presume at least some say in the facility plan where a lot of schools only have male AD's.

I didn't listen, I'll try to catch the podcast.

This is where I am at though. It is complete Bs that football has to pay for all the non revenue sports. She was notorious for being combative toward the big 3 sports and always lobbied for the field hockey team.

That is all beside the point. If Barta wasn't completely and totally incompetent he would have documented things way back to when he took the job and this would all be a non story. Since Barta is completely and totally incompetent he looked like a idiot just spouting a few items that he described as "fireable" offenses and even those weren't documented correctly.

Moral of the story is Barta is a freaking idiot.

No, it's ironic that one of Iowa's finest students stole from an Iowa player. Maybe he had real or fake credentials to get into the Iowa locker room.
It's absurd that Iowa would send a letter out to the Big 12 when they use the same exact security company.
Maybe your dip ****, discrimating AD could have waited for the facts to come out in the case but then again, he's a dip ****.

I'm no fan of Barta. I also understand that you don't just let teams fans into their locker room. You honestly think fans should just have access to their teams locker room?
