A few days before I went I decided to be smart and convert dollars to pounds because everyone says you get a better exchange here. 2 days later Brexit happened and my pounds lost 11% of their value.

that would blow. I think we're just going to pull out money there. I still have Canadian money in my purse cause I can't get it converted at the local bank. We fly in/out of Montreal in June so maybe I'll try spending it then.

I keep hoping the Queen lives to some record age and outlives her doofus son Charles so they can skip to William, although one of those gossip rags at the grocery store yesterday claimed she was planning her funeral and somehow the coronation of William and Kate so that must be true.

Considering how everything has gone for the last 25 years or so, I am wondering if Charles even wants the crown. He may very well abdicate so it can pass immediately to William.

If it's on the cover of the National Enquirer then it must be true.

Ours involved moving a Volkswagen beetle into the center courtyard of the school. It involved "borrowing" a crane from the construction site on the other side of the campus (one of the seniors was the son of the foreman).
A couple of years before I graduated, the class put a Beetle on the roof of the high school. The school subsequently enforced a very strict "no senior pranks" policy after that.

when I was much younger, I had a pair of jeans I must have been growing out of. Told my mom I didn't like them anymore because they "hurt my nuts".

Still remember her laughing at that.
Seven or so years ago, my sister got married in a high rise hotel in Chicago. As we were riding up the elevator, my son said, "This elevator makes my pen1s feel funny." Every time I tell the story, the guys in the group always want to know where the elevator is.

I'm hosting 13 family members tonight at my house with a taco bar, margaritas and enough Mexican beer to damage several livers.

Tomorrow, I'm hosting 20 family members at my house to watch the Kentucky Derby (with mint juleps) and then then grilling out with likely more alcohol.

I've spent a good week and a half prepping my house, getting food, organizing the menu, etc. It's been a lot more work than I originally thought. Kudos to those of you that host a bunch and make it look effortless.

I'm not really a big drinker, but I may make an exception. I'll likely need the fridge space for leftover food, right?

I am always one of those people afraid to like, make myself at home at others'. Like, getting ice from the fridge or asking for more food, not being enough seating, stuff like that. Better as an adult, but I was really bad about it when I was younger. My family also never really hosted "adult" things so it's been kind of a learning process as we've started hosting things.

So I feel like I'm a super conscientious host because I'm always like, what would make me feel weird and anxious at someone else's house? Ok, make sure extra toilet paper is easily accessed. Plunger too, haha. If you want people to bring stuff, be clear about it and give them a category of what you need - dessert, appetizer. Put out ice. make sure we have extra food so 10 people aren't fighting over two pizzas (honest to God, a friend hosted something once and they served two frozen pizzas for a mixed crowd of 10, I went hungry), make sure we have enough seating........friends have commented that we throw good parties and always have too much food, haha. It is a lot of work but I've found I rather like planning and hosting. Get to stay in my own house where I know where everything is!

I've hosted my family Christmas before which was interesting. I had to make enough room in my house to sit and feed 41 people comfortably. Although my house isn't large, it is fairly open, and I was able to make it work. Also, the only real food I contributed was the meat and some drinks. My sibs all chipped in and hammered out the sides.

This weekend, it's mostly on us since several are flying in later this afternoon and not really able to do much besides swing by a grocery store. The true stress for the week came from the roof, siding and gutters all finally being replaced from the hail storm back in March. I couldn't get hardly anything done outside since crap was strewn everywhere.

I've basically been up til 11:30-midnight every night this week cleaning, prepping food, shopping, etc. I was out sweeping my deck and patio last night at 11PM picking up random nails missed by the contractors.

Anyhoo, I've put in a lot of time into the planning and am gonna relax and enjoy myself.

Took one last "half" day as directed by my lovely wife. So what world problem are we going to solve this afternoon?

Could you find me a body double that can occupy my family for a couple hours this weekend so I can go and watch Guardians of the Galaxy 2?
