Shakur Juiston on njcaatv.com tonight

Nope, they're arrogant.

The vast majority live in McMansions in Overland Park or around Johnson County.

They all went to HS together in Johnson County and then travel 30 miles to Lawrence for school before heading back to Overland Park to raise their kids together.

Arrogant wine and cheese crowd basically.

The vast majority are pretty nice people, just a little sheltered and very entitled in basketball.

KSU and Wichita State are more of the hayseed types.
Ignorance is usually the catalyst to arrogance.

Spend some time outside of Johnson County and you'll see it differently imo. It's just as much Blue KSU as it is Purple Kansas. Or just go to AFH. Their ignorance is what drives those in a West Des Monies, I mean OP, to act arrogant.

anyone else keep checking the board throughout the day hoping to see commitment news for Juiston? I was hoping we could wrap this up this weekend. The waiting is killing me.

Same hope, but do we really think a kid isn't going to take an official on KU's dime even if he likes us? Just hope our impression/relationship/opportunity is good enough to get him whenever that may be.

The soonest we could hear about a commitment is probably tomorrow night after he gets back home.

It's really rare that it takes place this early, or at least that it's reported to the media.

Your arrogance is off the charts. Iowa State has had some pretty good success with little ol 6 foot 7 power forwards. Georges Niang, Melvin Ejim, Marcus Fizer ring any bells?

Iowa State led that recruitng battle all along. KU fans knew it. Bill Self knew it. Nevermind the 16 page thread about the little ol juco on your board KU fans will now start to downplay Juiston.

Tell Billy Boy thanks for signing the Memphis transfers. They seem like real high character guys. Real student athletes. Right in the mold of Jackson and Vick. Tremendous for the community real easy to get behind those guys!
Arrogance? Of what? It's not arrogant to look at Kansas' roster and see they are pretty stacked for next year while ISU will not be. It's not arrogant to think that it's doubtful that Bill Self doesn't waste scholarships on a player just to "keep him away from a conference member".

I totally agree with you that ISU leads for Juiston. They should. They have WAY more to offer him as far as minutes. Do I hope KU lands him? I'd rather have Timon or Duval who would be instant impact guys on our roster next year but if we don't land either of them then yeah, sure, I'd take this guy. He wouldn't be an instant impact guy for KU next year because of who else is on the KU roster but he'd be a solid rotation guy behind Preston and Azubuike and a good energy guy in practice.

The vast majority? Talk about being sheltered. KU basketball goes back a bit longer than the times of bustling Johnson County, Kansas.Sorry to bust your stereotype.

I'll be very surprised if he commits this weekend..Not because i dont think he wont commit to ISU but more because i think he will take that KU visit. It's not full panic mode if a commit doesnt come tomorrow or Monday.

This is exactly what I hope KU conveys to SJ. You can't make an "instant impact" at KU because you're not good enough. Perfect.

So a four star freshman in Tilmon would undoubtedly have more impact for KU next year than a four star Junior Juiston and consensus #1 JUCO in the country? Got it! That makes perfect sense. Time will tell who is the better player next year. Arrogance again as always!

KU I hate to burst your bubble won't be competing for any national titles next year sorry. A lot of uknowns in that roster as well.

Iowa State lands Juiston and a big time guard grad transfer they'll surprise a lot of people.

KU is best when they have a weathered veteran or two down in the post. A couple rookie 5 star recruits I'm not so sure. Neither has played any meaningful minutes in college. Who takes the reins in the backcourt? Graham? He's been riding Masons coatails he showed his true colors in that Oregon game. Vick and Newman are both head cases look out if things turn south those two will be an absolute cancer.

Don't let tuco fool you, Juiston's better than anyone they have for the four. He'd make that soft Preston kid cry. Tuco's just worried he won't go to KBoo.

Exactly this. Wigginton was the leader of that Oak Hill team not Preston. I'm not saying Preston isn't extremely talented he is. Self wants a quick/athletic four man. Tilmon would be buried as a rotation man on KUs roster next year. He offers nothing that the more experienced Coleby does off the bench.

Is this the preemptive did not want post.

No Wayne Simien, Jeff Withey, Thomas Robinson or Perry Ellis down there on the block this year. A couple of unproven guys with a world of potential. We'll see if it translates....I'd be worried if I was a KU fan.

Thomas Robinson wasn't a proven player when he entered his junior year. Jeff Withey SUCKED his first few years. If the big problem for KU fans is worrying about whether we will get some good play out of Preston, Azubuike, Coleby, Lightfoot and whoever else we end up with then it's going to be another good year.

Are you even allowed on phog.net anymore?
Allowed? Yes. But I do not got there as it tends to be the gathering place for the more...... belligerent portion of our fan base. Oddly, I find the conversation here to be more civil and I enjoy reading different opinions than mine. Kinda boring to read 50 posts that all agree with you.
