***Official 2017 Transfer Thread***

At this point, I almost prefer Alstork to Brown. Big, physical guard with the ability to score on the catch and shoot, in isolation, and on the block against smaller guards. Not saying I wouldn't be ecstatic with landing Brown, but Alstork would seem to address a bigger need and possibly fit better with Jackson and Wigginton on the floor. There would obviously still be enough minutes to go around with Brown, DJ and Wigginton, and I could still see them all on the floor at once, just sacrifices some length.

Perhaps, but Brown isn't small. Each would be an absolute homerun and would change the outlook of next year.

If we can just get these guys on campus. It just seems like such a mutually beneficial situation that I'm hopeful a couple of the 5 guys we know we're after for next year will commit

He brings the ball pretty low before every time he shoots. His release and shot look fine but great shooters can catch and shoot without bringing the ball below their waste. (just watch matt thomas). Still want though. Definitely fixable.
He wouldn't be a catch and shoot guy for us, or need to be. And it's fine imo, this isn't the NBA draft.

I thought our want/need was a catch and shoot guard/wing?
When you lose as much as we are it's a matter of opinion imo. Imo we need an All Big 12 level guard and we're not recruiting a guy like him to sit in the corner and shoot 3Ps. He's effective at shooting 3Ps though, so he would fill that need too.

In some cases, it almost doesn't need to be fixed if the player works it in to their repertoire of moves from a triple threat stance. Deonte drops the ball almost to his knees on his stand alone jumpers, but he also will rip through and drive from that same low ball position, so he has options. It's a trade off, it might be harder to get a jumper off with someone right up in you, but you're also in position to drop it down as a shot fake and drive. No weird movements otherwise, and high release.

Deonte was also strong enough to take someone's arm off.

I'm all in for two sit and play players:

1.) Marial Shayok
2.) Ed Morrow

And two immediately eligible guys:

1.) Shakur Juiston
2.) Best possible combo guard (we've been mentioned with several).

Just for the record I think there's a strong chance we get 3/4 of those. Land all 4 or a similar combo I'm all aboard the hype train were in incredible shape.

There was talk of him "not fitting in with the team" and he went on twitter after one game and called out his coach. He is a chucker and this will be his third team. The kid has talent for sure and I don't think Prohm would take him on at all if he thought he would be a problem.
To be fair, the team was a mess and nobody wanted to play for the coach, who was just fired. I think some other Lobos are transferring as well.
