On to Football Season

I’m not trolling, I’m just pointing out a fact. You on the other hand troll every second, trying to use every angle you can. It is like a non stop troll a thon with you.

I was always talking about the remaining schedule. Miami, NDSU, Rutgers, Northwestern, Minnesota, Purdue, Wisconsin, Penn St., Michigan, Illinois, Nebraska, and Florida

>>

UNI, San Jose St., Baylor, Ok St., Texas, K-State, OU, Kansas, Texas Tech and WVU

You said ISU had a much much easier schedule than Iowa and ISU still had a tougher schedule according to the most respected SOS tool out there and that included Iowa playing one more opponent in a bowl game. Like I said, your trolling sucks. At least you admitted Isaiah Moss is garbage though in the basketball thread, other than that you've been worthless

Simmonsratings, Iowa #35, ISU #37

You have ripped Sagarin up and down and all around. Now they are the Gold Standard? Troll.

And I never said a word about Moss. Troll.

You said Shayok was really really bad offensively because of his offensive rating and it's a lot better than Moss and Moss isn't an elite defender like Shayok so yeah, you said Moss is garbage. Thanks for playing!

It's in the basketball thread. I bumped it for you but for some reason you have chosen to ignore it. Wonder why? Troll

Funny, I keep finding SOS metric that say Iowa’s was tougher, and you keep clinging to a rating you called garage yourself. THat is what trolls like you do though.

I've never said Sagarin's SOS rating was garbage. Not once. We know you call your basketball players garbage though...lol

Um, Iowa played Florida. When you have a good season, you play a good bowl opponent, that is what happens.

No matter how you try to troll it, Iowa and ISU were basically a dead heat in SOS. All of them we have quoted are so statistically close, they are basically a dead heat. If Iowa removed the anchor of ISU, their SOS goes up even higher and is easily tougher than ISU’s schedule.
<<<this is still not how averages or general math works>>>

Remove ISU from your schedule and count all other games, and I bet your overall SOS moves less than 5 places.

Thank you for proving my point! Take ISU off Iowa schedule and it’s SOS jumps even higher. That is exactly what I was saying, so clearly I understand math and @CyTwins doesn’t.

Hold up there cowboy, I said "moves less than 5 places", I didn't specify which direction you would move (although it's still likely to be largely inconsequential either way). I'd need a source of rankings for all D1 schools and a computer (that's not my phone like right now) to properly estimate the implications each team has on each other.

ISU is returning a ton, have a veteran QB with a big arm, one of the best WR corps in the conference and a lot easier schedule than year's past, but yet ISU fans aren't expecting a bowl game?

This isn't about downplaying expectations. When you're not very good or used to winning, even average teams are a tough out. You win on the OL and DL. ISU's OL has two returning starters and that's counting Campos, who didn't play at all last year and has not played this spring. The DL returns one real starter and is probably counting on two JUCOs to start. Skill positions are probably better than most teams we'll play, but that doesn't really do much if the lines are below average.

As far as the schedule, KSU returns a lot of players from a good team. TCU was really young last year and had a bunch of injuries. Baylor, while I hope they fall off, they still have a bunch of talent and their recruiting has not dropped off like we all hoped. Herman will turn UT around quickly.

Can they get to 6 wins? Sure, but it's not probable. They can beat iowa, they can beat KSU, they can beat Texas. None of those are really likely to happen though unless the lines play better and the team starts actually winning close games in the 4th quarter.

Totally agree Frak. Just because they can get to 6 wins doesn't mean they will. Some teams will be better than we are projecting, injuries, etc. it all plays into it.

Iowa should probably win at least 9-10 games going into their bowl loss

Rather optimistic on the 9-10 wins. Iowa will be an underdog to Penn State, underdog to Wisconsin. Those are winnable games but Iowa will not be favored. Likely underdog at Nebraska as well, depending on how the first 11 games go.

So Iowa will probably be favored in at least 8 games and I picked them to win 9 or 10. I don't that that is that optimistic

Iowa announced Middle Tennessee St. as it’s last 2019 opponent. It was met with a great bid yawn from Hawk fans.

I guess this leads into this. Is it time to stop the ISU vs Iowa game? I personally think so. Either stop it all together, or just play it like every 3 years, that way Iowa and ISU could bring in other P5 teams in the 2 off years.

With 9 game conference schedules, it really hampers the schedule having to play ISU every year.

Yes we need to get rid of the game. It's a lose/lose situation for ISU in my opinion
