Thanks Ross... Great coverage as always and great one on one interviews as well!
Noticed that but knowing how he was when he was wrestling not surprising. DSJ is my sleeper coach in all of this. Something about him, which I think it's his length, makes me think he's going to bring so much to the table.
Couldn't be happier for the coaching staff that was put together. Wish them great success in what is basically starting from the ground.
Should note when BeardZ said, and I am paraphrasing, that it isn't about Iowa it is about PSU...I was like HELL YEAH LETS ROCK AND ROLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL.
Can't say I'm thrilled seeing such great former Hawkeyes cross over, but good for ISU. **** is going to get real.
I know if the teams were reversed I'd be feeling the same way!
DSJ hates being in that position. Guy basically told the guy who was interviewing him after he won a title that he didn't want to be there talking that either. Dude just wants to get to work. From what I remember, he's a fantastic technician. Not the greatest athlete, but was on the podium 4 times and on top of it once. That's pretty incredible.
Metcalf I thought looked like he was just trying to feel his way through it. This is all pretty new to him. I think he had some good things to say though, albeit brief.
Zadick? Completely different story. That guy gives me goosebumps. Seems to be very relatable, a good sense of humor, but look at him after responding to the question about who will roll with the upper weights. Intense fire there. Also loved his response about the lower and middle weight guys. "Who are you just waiting to get your hands on"? Something like that...I'm paraphrasing. His response was great. Everyone is equal in his mind. They will all get the same treatment and receive what they need around the clock. "Is there one guy? No." Awesome.
Can't wait to see the progression.

We've had Gable leave ISU and go take Iowa to where it is now. And then we had Cael leave and take PSU to where it is now as well. Trust me, we know the feeling very well.
Closest thing Iowa fans probably have is Dan McCarney coming to ISU and beating Iowa in football something like 5 years in a row I believe.
Its so great to see a staff and fanbase so ready to get things turned around. It reminds me of the last 4 football coaches. The good thing is, we actually have a history and are in a great place geographically for wrestling. Zadick definitely seems like he will be a head coach some day.
Wanted Zadick from the start but the more research I've done and after watching the presser, I really love having that guy as a Cyclone. Can't help but get a Dave Schultz type of vibe from him. Unique dudes but genuinely relate to everybody and absolutely love the sport.
Its a complement to what Gable did at Iowa. Produced a good style of wrestling as was successful. All most like things are coming full circle. I am excited to see aggressive wrestling again at ISU, instead of the laid back style we have had to live with for 25 years or so.
