On to Football Season

For example, Minnesota won 9 games last year. They return their leading rushers, a few out of their top receivers, 4 starting OL. However, they lose their QB and 6 defensive starters.

Will they win 9 again? Unlikely, but they'll still be an above average team, IMO.

See this is pretty simple. You look at a team that won 9 games last year and you don't see a 9 game winner this year. Perfect example and thank you for proving my point. You don't see me getting all
Bent out of shape that you think a BigTen team that won 9 games won't do so again this year. It is a prediction you are making, what is all the fuss about?

Oh, The only reason I think K State falls off some Is because of Snyders health. If he isn't healthy, it is a bigger blow to K State than losing some LB, or a QB. They are an awful program without him.

You are impossible to debate with, just completely unreasonable.

Because I think K State won't be as good as last year? Listen to yourself for god's sake, it is a prediction, it ain't a fact either way.

Also lost in all of this obsession over Kansas freaking State on a ISU board is the fact That it was a side statement on K State while predicting a 6 win season for ISU.

It is like some of you just want to argue for arguements sake. If I think ISU is gonna be much improved, then you globe onto Conference Pride and feel slighted if I think K State will regress some.

Should I lose my mind over your prediction? Am I doing this right, I don't know how Conference pride works?

It has nothing to do with conference pride. Saying any preseason top 25 is an average team is stupid regardless of what conference they are in. All you're really doing here is making the Big 12 look stronger so I guess keep it up

I've stated this again, it has nothing to do with the fact that K-State is in the Big 12. I'd argue for any 9 win team that returns 90% of its talent.

So, do you think Iowa is average and will be average again?

It is really sad that you can't think for yourself. Why even play the season if we know who the top 25 is?

Let's place a Bet on it. Without even knowing the top 25 (It AP poll isn't even released yet), but I will bet you 3-5 teams that are unranked in the preseason will finish in he top 25. I'll also bet 3-5 teams in the preseason top 25 finish in unranked and have an average or worse season.

I find it pretty sad that you can't think for yourself though.

I predict Baker Mayfield and all of his returning linemen will struggle to move the ball this year, just because.

Iowa is gonna be completely average this year. 7 wins is what I'm thinking, maybe 8.

Oh I know teams aren't going to have seasons like predicted so why don't you tell me which preseason top 25 teams are average and then we can see

Why act like a total nut case that I think the same?

When the AP poll is released we can do that. We don't even know if K State will be ranked.

So Iowa was average in 2016, from what I'm understanding in your idea of average (7-8 wins).

6-7 average
8 above average
9 good
10-11 awesome
12+ Elite

These are rough, they aren't set in stone, but rather just rough estimates. SOS can move you up or down 1 slot I would say.

Iowa was above average and K State was good last year. That has nothing to do with this coming year. Last years failures or successes don't matter.

Plus this is seems absolutely about Conference Pride. I guarantee if I said the same thing about a non Big12 team that nobody would have batted an eyelash around here. Instead you guys just cant let it go. It is like some battle you feel the need to wage to get my opinion/prediction to change. It is weird.

Why? You play a bunch of average or bad teams and a couple above average teams. Anything less than 10 wins would be a real disappointment IMO

BigTen is really tough this year. Plus we play 2 bowl teams in the non conference and an improving ISU team in Ames who always play us tough in their Super Bowl (had to beat you to it). Gonna be a long year playing that grind of a schedule.

No it's not. Your schedule is a bunch of average/bad teams and a couple good teams. I would think 9 wins would be the bare minimum
