Flight Track Favre's Plane

that plane might as well go to Minneapolis. More and more reports saying that is the only way the Packers can go. (Favre won't chat with any other teams).

Favre has refused to chat with the Jets/Buccaneers. The Vikings are the only team he will allow a trade to....either that or allow him into camp and heads will roll.

I cannot express how happy I would be to see Bret Farve in the Purple and Gold.

Wouldn't you feel dirty - for arguments' sake, if the Bears got him, yes, i'd still root for my favorite team, but if they won anything, i feel like the packers and their fans deserve some of the fun in it... it just isn't right.

No, that would be absolutely awesome if hte bears got him. he would boost their offense tremendously, even without weapons around him. if he goes to minnesota, that will be like one nightmare to another.

As much as I like the Vikings, I would love to see him go to the Bears, it would be sweet irony really. Everyone here hates that guy, with a passion. And that's all I've heard for the last 10 years is how much they hate the guy. And with the rivalry, it would just be one of those things that would put me to bed with a smile on my face at night. Just to hear, "I effing hate Favre, I'm sick of hearing about him and I can't stand...Oh, he's a Bear now? Gee, let's talk about Brett and how much we love him now."

Maybe it's just me and the people I know here. Football fans with little knowledge of the game. They are just Bears fans because they are the Bears and they are Favre haters because he's a Packer. And they only watch Bears games.

maybe its just me, but if im the packers, i tell him thats fine if he wont talk to other teams...he can always ride the bench....

Does anyone know if he has said anything about being willing to ride the bench? I just can't imagine there being much of a point to come out of retirement to ride the bench some where.

That was my initial thought as well. Until I heard about the $12mil bubble hanging over his head. That's a lot of money to be riding the bench when you are trying to build a team around a young QB. Then again this guy is a God up in GB, so to do that to him is taking a huge chance in alienating you entire fanbase against you. Then what if Rogers isn't panning out right away. If he gets the first year jitters. EVeryone is going to say, "Bring in #4" Then, if Favre does well, what do you do? You'd have to keep #4 in there. And at the end of the year, "I might retire, I might not" and you get to go through it all over again. As much as the bigwigs of the Packers might like to stick it to him, it's in their best interest to just let him go play somewhere else.

In some ways though, I do believe Brett should be charged to come back into the league. He retired, had a presser and everything and now wants back. Only he did it at a time when his old team had really moved on and made other plans. He really put them at a disadvantage.

i agree with everything you said here...but u cant let him go to another division rival, especially minn. where he would most certainly beat gb twice...what happens then? i agree they are best trading him..but if he is unwilling to play by their rules, they have to put their foot down and prove to all of the team, one person doesnt make it. by giving in, it shows that if u are good enough, u can do whatever u wish.

I don't know if that's totally true. I am a Bears fan (and have lived in Chicago a good deal of my life). I think they hate him, but have a lot of respect for him still. I think a lot of Chicagoans would be happy to have him, but there would be mixed feelings.

Is Favre really going to just step into a new system (probably weeks after training camp has started) and pick it up immediately? I have my serious doubts that he'll be able to go anywhere and enjoy the same success he had off and on in Green Bay. I think the Packers would be crazy to not trade him and get something out of him. I don't see him leading any team to the playoffs this year. Maybe next year, after having a year in the system and with the same teammates. But, by then he will probably have retired a couple of times again...

I also think Aaron Rogers will be knocked out of the season by injury....most teams do lose their starting qb in a long season.

Why would Farve want to go to the Vikings...he played his whole career in Green Bay where their arch rival is the Vikings. Favre should dispise the purple and never want anything to do with them. I dont like Favre in the first place and going to the vikings would just add to the dislike. Plus if you were a viking fan you likely would have grown a hatred towards Bret, now you are supposed to cheer him on like his your hero.

Problem is... Favre has backed the team into a corner. Why would a team give up anything of value if they know the Packers are being forced to dump him???

They'll likely get a crap 3rd or 4th round pick.

I also think Aaron Rogers will be knocked out of the season by injury....most teams with Sage Rosenfels as their backup qb do lose their starting qb in a long season. But then even after he gets the job done game after game they still bench him when the starter returns

fixed it for ya'

But back to the topic at hand- I'm pretty indifferent about the Packers and Vikings, so I'm just going to grab some popcorn, sit back, and enjoy the show.

As a Bears fan I don't want Favre, what does it solve long term? Nothing. One year and done? Especially if they give alot away. It's not worth it.
The Bears are one year removed from the SuperBowl, we don't need a prima donna like Favre to get us back.
