Name Your Hottest Teams

Not at all. ISU has won 4 straight in convincing fashion against good teams. KU's loss was one game ago for ***** sake. 3/4 of a good game against a 16 seed isn't criteria for being hot

I guess I look at everything. Prior to the TCU loss, KU was on an absolute tear, and they only lost to TCU because their best player was out. All things considered, KU is probably the hottest team in the country.

Yeah, besides losing to ISU, Nevada is one of the hottest teams remaining in the tournament.

You're confusing best with hottest. Prior to the TCU game KU had several close unearned wins. Oh, and if we are ignoring loses, let's forget UT and WVU. ISU is very hot and hasn't lost since January.

wuuuut, I thought the T-Hoks have the next Fab 4 freshman playing in the NIT this year. They talk actually of being in the big dance next year and winning it. So confusing.
**** Iowa
This seems to be completely unrelated to anything in this topic... ?

  1. Iowa State
  2. Michigan
  3. Kansas
  4. Rhode Island
  5. USC
I feel like everyone else is either struggling to just playing normal.

Michigan should NOT be on the list IMO. If they don't shoot completely out of their minds (Michigan record 16 threes) and going 11 for 15 (73%) in the 2nd half, they lose by 10+ easily. OSU was the better team. Outrebounded Michigan 40-21 in the game.

And most of those 3's were highly contested too, it wasn't because of bad defense at all. I give credit to Michigan for shooting so well, but they won't shoot like this again, and so will not last.

That's pretty much the definition of hot. It should also be noted that OSU should have been a better seed.

Maybe, but being "out of your mind" hot does not translate from one game to the next. Michigan is NOT going to shoot like that in another game this season, or probably ever again, so trying to use that one game in trying to predict future wins going forward for them in this tourney is silly. They didn't play that well. When you shoot 3's like that, you should win by 20, not one point. OSU beat them in all phases of the game, except Michigan made everything they threw up there.

Not really, they beat up on Texas and Oklahoma before that but they were coming off a 5-game stretch where they were getting extremely lucky to win.

No, I'm looking at their loss, realizing their best player did not play, and seeing they barely lost. If Jackson played that game, they win, no doubt, and who knows what happens from there. I don't care how they won. Fact is they won. Went through the Big 12 and got eight freaking road wins. KU is hot, don't let your hate cloud your judgement.

Ignore FinalFourCy. Its nothing more than our latest condescending troll who exists for nothing more than peeing in Cheerios. The only reason why they're not on block on my account is I like outright calling this person an idiot and posting trollface pics.

Except it wasn't just that one game. They have played relatively well to end the season. Then they had the plane crash and went on a tear. Then yesterday they couldn't miss. Yes they should have won by more, but I think that had more to do with Oklahoma State. Both of those teams looked at minimum like sweet sixteen teams.

They trailed a good portion of their game with TCU.

The list of hottest teams doesn't have amendments for loses and isn't synonymous with best or most likely to win. KU is good and my pick to win it, but they're not the hottest team. They're not even playing their best.

Rhode Island should be on the list. I think we'll see URI vs. U-M in Sweet 16. And Middle Tennessee beats Butler to get to second weekend.

I think there is a decent chance that the Midwest Regional in Kansas City includes #5 vs. #9 and #7 vs. #11. In which case Iowa State would be the favorite for the Final Four...

Possible, but I don't think that happens. MSU looked good, but I think that was more Miami looked awful. Also Kansas looked excellent too.

USC isn't that hot. They were throttled by everyone coming into the tournament that didn't have Washington in their name and were lucky to even get a bid.

Did you see the play in game or the game against SMU? They weren't great coming into the tournament, but they have played well.

Michigan State is better than your typical 8/9. They're very talented and they're young, so they earned their seed on the back of some freshman losses. But now these guys have 30 games under their belt and they have a fresh start. I at least expect MSU to keep it close with KU, and I think they are right there with Wisconsin for best chance at knocking out a 1 seed in the first weekend.

I keep wanting to say that too, but they just aren't putting it together. Maybe the game last night did that, but I don't have the confidence they are going to do it.
