Seemingly never ending Iowa MBB thread (still going.....)

Link? I'd be curious to see it.

I have been lurking here long enough to see lot and lots of post by Clone fans ripping him. I have also seen you consistently ripping those guys, you have seemed to support him, but don't pretend that lots of ISU fans were way down on him, and ripped him up and down.
You haven't been here long enough if you don't remember every Iowa fan coming out of the woodworks and proclaiming ISU was screwed.

No idea, haven't seen him play at the collegiate level (even though his HS games are essentially that) but if Lindell averages as many minutes as JorBo, I would be confident in saying that he will at least average the same as those stats.

Again, I am expecting Lindell to have to come in and start, but he hasn't walked on campus yet so I can't say with any certainty one way or the other.

Shouldn't the expectations for a 4* stud coming in be off the charts better than a guy Clones fans mock non stop? According to this site Jordan is a terrible, horrible player, maybe the worse PG ever at a Power school level. Isn't that setting the bar awfully low so say he will get at least what Jordan did?

I expect Wigginton to shoot better than 38% from the floor and to not be incredibly terrible on defense if that's what you're asking

That could be. I really didn't know anything about Prohm, so I think a guy needs 3 years to show what they can do personally.

It is easy. It is the same way that Iowa lost Gatens and then became a NCAA team, or they way they lost Marble and then were still a NCAA team or when they lost White and were a NCAA team. It is the same way White left ISU and they were still a NCAA team or when Ejim and Kane left or when Niang, McKay, and Nadar left.

It is about what you have to replace them. Every team loses players, but what do you have there to replace them with? Iowa is returning 75% of its scoring and 85+% of both its rebounding and assists.

I'm not worried at all, and as I keep saying I'd be willing to bet anyone on it. When I say bet, let's just keep it easy and make it about who knows basketball, and just add a signature line to your profiles. Just for fun stuff. Any takers?

So Iowa will lose Jok and still be an NIT team?

I, surprisingly, am not "clones fans", I am me. And I never said that. Jordan exceeded my expectations and everyone elses, but that doesn't mean there wasn't a difference in freshman years. I think Lindell will be an absolute stud. Top 50 guy, top 12 U-19 world player, leader on a stacked prep school team, I am ecstatic about getting him on campus and in the cardinal and gold. But I am not going to throw stats like 20 and 7 on a kid from the moment he gets here.

Prohm has done a good job of winning enough with Hoiberg players. Everybody knew his first two years that the team was stacked especially with Monte returning and Naz getting the extra year. Everybody also knew that it would be next year with Prohm's own players that he would be judged on whether he could hack it or not. I think he will. I think he is a good coach.

Yeah, it would be hard to be worse defensively than Jordan. He has to get better.

What do you think he should avg PPG, APG. How efficient do you think he should be offensively?

No clue, if he shoots the second most shots on the team he will have more than 10ppg

Smart move, not putting too many expectations on Fr, and you actually seem to be one of the best poster on here.

I am thinking if he can put up 10-12 PPG and 4 APG, and be Effecient to, that would be a good Fr year.

I could see Jackson starting out at point the first few games and getting wigs feet wet. Like monte did with Kane. By conference he would be our guy with a some games under his belt.

They will be in the NCAA tournament next year.

Are you expecting huge strides to be made by the young guys?

Seems like all hawk fans are assuming that just because they are young this year that they will make huge improvements the next few years.

I think Cook has the raw talent to develop, but I just don't see JorBo taking it to the next level. He'll jack up plenty of shots and make some of them, but there's more to winning games than being a volume shooter.

I would be happy with that. I think a big factor, also, is if he plays PG, SG, or if we just have him and Donnovan Jackson interchanging roles continually. Depending on where he plays I think that could move his pts up and assists down or vice versa.

Yeah, I was just saying I think where he plays changes his stats potentially. I would rather have him go this route, but I don't think Donnovan can push Lindell around like DeAndre could with Monte:D But I get your point haha
