How far does ISU go in your bracket?

I always struggle with this, and I usually pick us in the final four. It's hard for me to pick against ISU. Nevada is a very tough opponent, but I think we get by them in a close game. Purdue could create some big time problems and my mind is telling me to pick Purdue, but I can't. The seniors have me believing right now! So I was just curious to see how far everyone else has us going.

ps, good luck to you all on your brackets!

Anything 3 or higher, I pick them to win it all. Always pick them a round or 2 too farther than beyond what my brain says.

Well I just watched Jay Bilas go thru his analysis & picks in the Midwest region. He picked Nevada without hesitation. Glowing about their NBA pt. guard. Actually I'm not mad about it. It's obvious that Nevada is very good & those guys can't pick the higher seed all the time. Having said that, I think we win, but lose to Purdue's twin towers. Purdue has a lot to prove after we got out of Denver with the Sweet 16 while they got upset.

Purdue isn't that big of a threat to us. Their bigs aren't athletic enough. Swanigan is great but he can't do everything.

Every year we make it, I pick us to win it all. Someday I'm going to be right. I've even won some bracket pools over the years - helps to get 3/4 Final Four teams right...

I swear, Monte Morris has to be the best NBA-caliber player nobody has ever heard of.

ALL THE WAY!

Elite 8, but they play a really good team every round, so they could easily lose to anyone.

I'm struggling this year. My strategy for money pools has been to take ISU and Kansas out early. I see them so much I seem to have an inflated view of both teams. Since they're in the same region and I can't fathom putting Purdue in the elite 8, I'm not really sure where I'll go. Kansas is the safe pick there, but I just can't do it with the number of times Self's teams have gone home early.

I usually try to be a little pessimistic (or maybe it's just realistic with less bias?) when filling out my brackets when it comes to ISU. That way if we do lose, at least I still have my bracket. And if we win beyond where I have us losing, I don't care about no damn bracket by that point.

Think my bracket will have us losing in the Sweet 16.

What? Swanigan is an even bigger version of Burton, a double double machine. Guess I feel that we'll have to double or help a lot on 1 Big leaving us vulnerable to the other one. Plus, Purdue leads big10 in 3pt field goals,I thought. Not saying we can't win, but to say they are no threat to us is foolish.

Elite 8. Losing to Louisville.

The hard part with this is that if you think we're getting there, after kansas loses (be it to us or in an earlier round) those elite 8 tickets will be plentiful and it will be a massive home court advantage down there. I honestly think that "Hilton South" may be an even greater advantage than hilton itself when full effect, because not only is it a friendly crowd, but due to it being a group that is willing to go to the extra effort to travel, usually a more engaged, louder group. If we make it to the elite 8 in KC, very hard to pick against us making final 4.

For similar reasons, i dont mind if KU loses early. I know a lot of people want to see that matchup, and it would be a good one as always, but given their fans likely have most of the tickets currently, id almost rather they lose and we have hilton south in full effect, if we get there.

I'm apparently in the minority but I don't love our first two draws. Nevada is good and Purdue is one of like four teams I really didn't want to see. However, I don't think we will face Purdue as I think they lay an egg for the second straight year and lose to Vermont.

My heart says Iowa State losing to Louisville in Elite 8 after we beat Michigan State after they shock KU.

Head says we lose to Purdue.

I'm going with my heart.

We win the whole thing. Don't know who I'd rather face in the championship, Mt. St. Mary's or TJ's South Dakota St. I'm leaning toward the matchup of the Long brothers.

Oh man I would LOVE to play Michigan St in Kansas City in the Sweet 16. Maybe get just a tiny bit of closure/revenge.
