Seemingly never ending Iowa MBB thread (still going.....)

I'm just going to leave this here, especially for those Hawk fans who think Jok is an "elite" shooter.

ALL of ISU's top 9 players (Morris to Holden) shoot a better FG % than Jok. Plus Monte, Naz, Deonte, Matt and DJ all shoot a better 3 FG% than Jok.

Now, Peter is an excellent FT shooter (when no one is guarding him of course).

I did not realize that by Hawk standards, ISU had an entire team of "elite" shooters.

Comical, delusional Hawk fans. Entertaining though.

Remember when I said Iowa had a 0 percent chance to make the tournament going into the Big Ten Tournament? Fran might be a worse tournament coach than Doyle and Ferentz in bowl games

Saw the McCaffery boys at the state finals. Connor had some points, seemed to shoot a lot of free throws. He was guarded most of the game by a player seven inches shorter than him, Valley player #2. At one point, #2 blocked him from behind but they called a BS foul.

I'm not sure if you call it playing point guard when you dribble it up the floor sometimes with no one defending you and then don't really run the offense. When they wanted to dribble out some clock they had Lane do it.

The Curry kid from Valley looked solid, too bad he has had the leg injury issues.

The younger Fran spawn looked a little more athletic, although his numbers not as good.

I tried watching some of it but god it's brutally bad basketball.
To think that's the top level. Yeesh.

How did ISU cut corners? We keep hearing Iowa is doing it the right way, I guess the right way had nothing to do with winning. I guess the right way is getting recruits and building a roster of kids that have been Iowa fans their whole life. I guess doing it the right way requires a rebuild 5 years in, and I am not even sure what they are rebuilding from. To build a program you have to develop kids, is Fran doing that. To build a program you have to get kids that have ability to become better and not peak as Freshman, is Fran doing that.

As a comparison, we heard that phrase uttered numerous times during the McDermott era. Just means you're going to have a good team GPA (until you bring in felons that is).

Most of our players had their fg 3 pt shooting % increase as we played tougher competition.

Early in the year they were mostly below career averages but ended up great.

I thought of this thread during the game last night.

There were Iowa fans telling ISU fans that we'd take Baer over NWB (which was odd since NWB isn't a 6th man).

Baer had a nice season, and seems like a good kid who works his tail off. But then someone played defense on him, and he didn't know what to do, and I have a hard time imagining him vs. WV without feeling kind of sorry for him.

Meanwhile, NWB looked right at home playing against WV. Give me NWB any time.

I think Wisconsin is a good example of just because you return almost everyone, doesn't mean you are going to be better the next year. You could argue they are actually worse.

Iowa doesn't have high ceiling talent. I think next year they can't be penciled in as a tourney team.

Remember when I said if they won one game they'd be in? Well they would have been in. First four out.

Nah they needed 2. Beating a bad Indiana team wasn't going to make them jump Kansas State who just beat a great Baylor team and even then they would lose the play in game and not make it

Nope. You're wrong, but that's ok. And lol @ Baylor being great. They're on par with Maryland.
