This is the dangerous line of thinking for Iowa fans. They do have a nice class of freshman, but they weren't good as a team this year. They lose their best scorer and creators in Jok. Assuming that they are going to be an instant force next season still requires a bit of a leap. Other teams will bring in good players as well. They still treat basketball like it's 1996. Those were better days for them.

I think it is hard to translate this year's team at Iowa into an instant NCAA tourney team. Jok was such a huge part of their success in their big wins. There may be some growing pains without him, just like the Cyclones were this year without GN. They have some good players to work with, but who will be their star? Who can create their own shot? What happens if the Big 10 doesn't suck next year?

Love the season we turned in with mostly freshmen and sophs. Future is bright.

Let's talk league strength...specifically how much better the big 10 is going to be next year and how your schedule will be slightly less hot garbage.

I don't think this Iowa roster is going to ever compete for Big Ten championships unless someone develops into a stud (i.e. Cook becomes a Swanigan level player, Moss becomes Marble level, etc.).

Still, they should be somewhere between a six to ten seed in the NCAA Tournament for the next couple years. After where the program was under Lickliter I'm ok with that.

I like how Hawk fans justify everything by bringing up the Lick years.

Did you never see Wedding Crashers?

Yes.

But I pictured that gif of Woodbury and whoever else it was...not quite the same.

I think your take on Iowa is fine...they've got some youth and some guys that have made some plays. I'm not sure if I'd trust Fran to really augment the young talent too much though.

I made a painting of you. It's called 'Celebration'.

The only lock will be for Hassell being a douchecanoe.
