Seemingly never ending Iowa MBB thread (still going.....)

I specifically said there are exceptions. I specifically said typically players outside the top 100 are not impact Fr.
We don't need them to play the minutes Iowa's FR have. They'll be role players at most unless Lewis surprises. Prohm has done amazing recruiting so far, just needs to plug a hole in the PF position for 1 more year while Lard and maybe Yetna, if he commits, develop.

CyTwins: I think Cook will lead Iowa in scoring, but he won't be the #1 guy like Jok was this year. Be more balanced next year.

We have 3 scholarships, there will be JUCO and/or grad transfer post, probably 2.

Why are you so confident he will be starting?

Holden, Bowie and Kasango are the only transfer big guys that Prohm has brought in, correct?

His track record isnt great at ISU with transfer bigs.

So another Holden or Bowie, or worse since more and more teams have adopted that strategy.

I would expect to bring in a grad transfer better than those two. The grad transfer market was really poor last year and there are already much better potential names out there for those who follow it

Don't bank on it. Everyone was high on Holden and Bowie too until they actually started playing. Do keep bagging on Bohannon though, last time you did that it was with Peter Jok and he turned into one of the best SG's in the nation and now averages over 20 PPG.
Never has someone been so confident and been so wrong.

When did I bag on Jok? I said you guys are going to be screwed without him next year

That doesn't sound right. What was your prior user name on here?

Yes you did, don't worry you weren't the only cyclone fan to do so just the moist boisterous. If you're as wrong about Bohannon as you were Jok, he'll be a top PG in the nation by the end of his career. It's hard to be THAT wrong, but you've already shown you can do it.

Kasongo or Lard could start, doesn't matter who does it won't be a FR unless it's RS FR Lard. I think you take that as Lard is pretty good considering what we'll bring in and what we have on the roster, but I think it's unlikely he starts.

This isn't entirely accurate. This time last year we had a top-rated JUCO forward set to come in and replace Niang. When he didn't pan out, then Holden was a stop gap and there were limited options at that time. Bowie never really panned out like we thought because he spent a lot of time out of position. I think he could have been a nice player if he wasn't asked to play the 5.

Most of use were pretty sure Jok could score, but what we doubted was that he could carry Iowa to a lot of wins. They are right around the bubble, where we expected them to be.

You didn't answer my question, what was your previous user name here?

Haven't you heard? It's impossible for freshmen to make an impact unless they are Top 100 players!

Coming from the guys who constantly pound their chests about Bohannon and Pemsl...

Edit: quoted the wrong post, but my point still stands.
