Seemingly never ending Iowa MBB thread (still going.....)

So the #10 team in the country vs the #24 team in the country is elite.. I would reserve that talk for a top 5 matchup. That being said, still a very good matchup tonight with ISU/WVU.
Iowa State is severely underrated right now. I'm not saying we deserve to be higher because we had some non-con struggles and weren't great to start the year. But lately, we have become a top tier team, beating the likes of Kansas, Baylor, and a red hot Okie State team, making this match-up elite.

2 of the top teams in one of the best conferences in the country=Elite.
The Big XII just doesn't get the respect it deserves because the same team has won the conference for like 13 years, which might not be that bad if they were also a FF team every year, but outside of 2008 Kansas (unfairly) represents the conference every time they choke in the tourney. Reminds me a lot of 2000s Big Ten football when Ohio State won every year and choked in the BCS bowls. Not sure I enjoy our conference being compared to Big Ten football, but the shoe fits.

Top 25 matchup on primetime TV on a Friday night?

That's the definition of an elite matchup

Perhaps we just have different definitions of elite - To me "elite" is a matchup between teams in the top 5/10, perhaps. I would agree that ISU is probably underrated at this point based on how they are playing, I'll give you that.

5 posts in and your shtick is already boring me. Where's @Gonzo at when we need him

Twenty thousand posts in and you still think anyone cares. Your schtick is boring all of us. But by all means, attack the newcomers because this is the only place you feel at home.
This is mean and wrong. I care what he thinks. The hok fans must care too because they always respond.

Lunardi has Iowa as Next Four Out now. Still think Iowa needs 3 more wins to feel good about getting in, but we will see.

Yeah, Rutgers then a match up vs. Indiana or OSU in the first round will only serve to knock them out should they lose. They will also likely have to beat Wisconsin again, assuming a 2-7 seed scenario. Although Wisconsin wins are losing their luster since their now at 44 in the RPI, so they might have to get Maryland also in order to get to at least 21-14

Iowa will basically have 6 maybe 7 must wins in a row and they've got 3, so props to them. It'll be interesting if they can seal the deal. This site still has them at 10% odds, so it's still damn near impossible, but I bet those odds were about 1% a week ago.

Iowa plays Penn State, not Rutgers. They can't play Maryland. If they beat Penn State, they get the 7 seed and play the winner of OSU/Ind I think. If they won that they would play the winner of the Minnesota/Wisconsin game this weekend.

If Iowa loses to PSU, they get the 8 or 9 seed and would play Michy or Illinois I think. Then Purdue if they won.

So basically a loss at home against Penn State marks the end of the season. Unless you really care about the NIT I guess.
