Seemingly never ending Iowa MBB thread (still going.....)

Why is the Big 10 tourney a week early next year? That is really hilarious that they have to compact their conference schedule just to play in Madison Square Garden per Jim Delany's requests. He must want travel to be easier for all the droves of Penn State and Rutgers fans that will be there.
It should be in Chicago or Indianapolis every year. It is so stupid that it isn't. Is the Big 12 tourney staying in KC for the foreseeable future?

Friday night isn't exactly a "primetime" slot for college sports. Why don't they do it all year then? Why doesn't college football put big time games on Friday nights?

I believe ESPN always puts a big time game on the last Friday of conference play every year. ISU, one of the hottest teams in college basketball going to play against a top 10 team will be must watch TV on Friday. Smart move by ESPN

I thought the NBA had the Friday night ESPN spot locked down.

Maybe must watch for Iowa State and West Virginia fans. I'm sure a lot of other people around the country have better things to do on a Friday night.

Chill out, it was an honest question.

Since conference play started, I would guess there have been zero P5 games on Friday nights on ESPN.

Look at a calendar dude. This time of year there isn't anything like high football, high school basketball is wrapped up, no NFL, etc. Friday creates another day that can be used to showcase games this time of year.

This way ESPN can advertise a top 25 showdown this Friday and dump commercials all week about it. college basketball won't be competing for viewers on Friday so it makes sense to put a big game like ISU vs WVU on it.

Imagine that an Iowa fan trying to relate football to basketball.
It is a ESPN highlight game to give exposure to the B12 conference when there aren't other games to complete with.
(BTW ISU upset of #2OSU was a Friday Night football game so there is president.)

Why does the Big 10 have games on Sunday primetime? That isn't traditional. It is for the same reason that Big 10 has content and wants to have college basketball on without other options for bball fans.

I cant wait until those Friday night NFL games start again.

They'll be competing with viewers on their own network, NBA games are always on ESPN Friday night. Plus, it is a Friday night, most people are out doing something. High school basketball is still going on around the country....
