Actually, Jok would have almost certainly been a Cyclone if not for some impermissible contact by a certain former basketball staff member.
Again, you can't just take guys away or out of an equation so it fits your narrative.
If you're talking recruiting you can take Uthoff out of the equation since Fran didn't recruit him
You cant be serious, Gessell was awful, just awful. He was small and couldnt shoot at all. How many times did he drive in with the game on the line and get stuffed by player or the backboard?
He was notorious for choking late in games. Like I said, he had some decent speed and could dribble around the outside well, other than that he was a huge bust. Bohannon can at least shoot decently.
Yeah, after he had major knee problems and had been downgraded to a 3-star by that point that didnt have alot of options. He was most certainly going to a blue-blood program early in his high school career before the injuries.
He's bigger than Jordan and shot 40% from the floor in his career compared to Jordan's 35%. Plus that's just talking about offense, Gesell was a pretty good defender and Bohannon might be the worst defender in the history of college basketball
lol no. Neither are great offensive players, but Mike at least could somewhat play a little defense. But Jordan is tiny and unathletic. He can shoot if he's wide open. That's it. The dude is terrible. No point in trying to polish that turd.

Right but those guys fell into Fran's lap. He's in over is head. He's a terrible in game coach, a poor recruiter, and a hot headed donkey (I would prefer another word but keeping it PG). I'm glad he had a little success because he is certain to dig another large hole for the hoks to dig out of.
Are you seriously defending Gessell? He was so bad. Bohannon is at least living up to his 3-star mid major type ranking. Gessell was a huge bust, if he had been the player they thought they were getting they would have went alot further.

Gesell was so much better than Bohannon has been and it's not even close. Sure you can say Gesell was a bust but that doesn't make Bohannon any better. You said Gesell was small and couldn't shoot but he's bigger than Bohannon and is shooting better. Good logic!
I wouldn't say Fran is a poor recruiter. He's got a good amount of Top 100 guys since he's been at Iowa.
