Can we turn this thread into a bubble watch thread?
Iowas bubble watch in January:

But their numbers as sophomores are comparable to Moss' numbers as a freshman, not sure how you can disagree. Naz averaged 0.3 more PPG on 0.5 less shots per game as a sophomore than Moss averages as a freshman.

Hawkeye math is my favorite.

LOL, you clearly don't understand what their roles were on those teams...

Seems like their roles were similar. 4th or 5th scoring options on the floor and comparable MPG played for Thomas and Naz as sophomores and Moss as a freshman.

Everyone here thought Thomas sucked as a sophomore FWIW. I'm not sure why people think Moss is good. He doesn't do anything great offensively and he sucks on defense. Every time I watch him he seems to lose his guy and Fran benches him

Lets not forget that Matt and Naz played on a tourney team with 4 other payers that were averaging in double figures. Who's getting the designed touches that Moss should be getting? He probably gets much better looks/opportunities than the 4th and 5th scoring option on a cyclone team that had 2 very efficient players to run plays to.

And still much more efficient on offense in both cases and much better on defense. Not really that close.

That is not true.

Guess the players:

Player A: 4.9 PPG, 2.0 RPG, 36.8% FG, 33.0%, 3PFG, 71.4% FT, 15.3 MPG

Player B: 6.8 PPG, 1.6 RPG, 42.6% FG, 36.5% 3PFG, 79.3% FT, 17.2 MPG

Player C: 7.1 PPG, 1.6 RPG, 43.2 % FG, 40.0% 3PFG, 64.3% FT, 20.3 MPG

And by the explanation in your post, Naz and Thomas had much better offensive players on the court with them meaning they would have better scoring opportunities and receive less focus of the defense.

A is Matt, he really really sucked that year, B is probably Moss and C is Naz because I know he shot 40% from 3 his sophomore year

I'm also curious why Hawkeye fans think Moss is going to be good?

Or not get nearly as many opportunities. Duh.

This is real dumb, and you should feel bad.

They played with 2 NBA players, probably 3 after this season. They were rotation players who just needed to hit a shot every once in awhile. If they were surrounded by the "talent" Iowa has they would have better stats because they'd have different roles. I can go through most garbage teams, like Iowa, and find mediocre players with good stats.

I feel likes it's groundhogs day, Iowa fans keep coming up with the same weak argument year after year. You would think that being wrong every single time would eventually open your eyes.

Docholihawk post from last year after the tournament:

While we are disappointed with the way things turned out, would you rather be a cyfan who can't beat division 2 football teams and a basketball team that next year won't be competitive. I would rather get close and fail than be a total loser.
